If you can get some small ram tubes like the original air cleaner, it does improve throttle response. I had an air cleaner made up for the twin 'su's using an XC falcon air filter as a pattern. A friend made up a top & bottom plate to fit the filter, with the necessary holes to suit. I then went to either Finer Filter or Unifilter, I forget which & they already had a foam filter to suit, giving lots of clearance to the ram tubes. Sold the whole lot before getting a chance to try it out. Good score on the Stanza, you probably wont be needing to finish the air cleaner now.

I've always tried to use the factory 70 degree cam in my road motors, the only time I didn't gave me a motor that needs twin DCOE's just to get a decent idle speed, & doesn't really work til 3500 rpm. I think the 70 degree cams were ground by Wade, but the last one I got seems to come from Camtech in Sydney. Went well with a single DGV & extractors & electronic ignition. I was going to use the latest one in the A15 I'm going to fit to my Sunny Wagon, until I decided to keep the standard cam. That's if it'd stop raining.

If you just want to keep up with traffic, & really just want torque then a small cam, a downdraught weber carby, a set of extractors & an electronic ignition system makes a bit of difference. I have nearly the same in my 210 wagon, but it's only an A12 with a stock cam & before it stopped working last Monday, it was quite capable of keeping up with traffic, generally just cracking the throttle to get away from an intersection, & lots of poke for a holeshot up the inside. I'll be replacing the engine with it's original A15, which burnt an exhaust valve a couple of years ago. The A15 will just get the carby, distributor & extractors, with the stock cam. When the head was serviced, I got new valve springs from a VW Beetle engine fitted, they cost $20 for the set & are comparable to the standard single springs. Any engine swap will need a gearbox & rear end upgrade. Just upgrading the stock engine or swapping to an A14/A15 means you don't have to change these. Hopefully you already have a 5 speed, if not you might be able to get one of those to lower the revs at highway speeds.

4 day weekend coming up Harry, surely you can score the rest by Friday & have it finished by Monday.(Don't laugh, this could happen). Seems I'll be swapping the engine in my Sunny wagon back to it's stock A15 after the A12 dropped onto half a cylinder going to work yesterday morning. To add to the problem, I was then caught by radar accelerating out of a school zone in the replacement car (Sunny Coupe with an all or nothing A15), got done for 50ks in a 40k zone, with the gun eventually showing 70k's, but it was a 70 zone by then. & my uncle was caught by the same set up when he came to meet the tow truck taking the wagon home. As I was wearing brand new underwear yesterday, I'll think I'll burn that pair, they're obviously bad luck.

clutch dust covers almost the same as these (have larger holes across the bottom) can be found on B310 automatics. They have the larger holes for the 3 10mm bolts across the bottom of the 60 series transmissions, as opposed to the 6mm bolts used in the 56 series transmissions. Hope this helps a little.

XC Falcon 500 coupe, ex police car, 351C, FMX, 9" diff' all in a plain white wrapper. Wanted $5000 in 1985. bought a 1200 coupe with paper & plastic (bog) side sills & a GX motor instead. Was more of a death trap than the Falcon.

If you have to, I've found that the engine brackets off an injected L24 from an R30 Skyline are shorter & should allow you to drop the motor down into the engine bay. That's how I'm planning to get my L20B under the bonnet of the Sunny, with the Stanza brackets & the 200b rubbers it hits the bonnet. I don't know if it's a problem with 120Y's, they seem to be taller in this area.

Got a fully counter weighted L18 crank with rods & 86 mm pistons down here if you're interested. Would really be good inside an L16 engine. No replacement for displacement. . I really love the way it looks with the Hotwires, now you just need to load up for the traffic light wars. Is it the H145 or H150 diff under there. Might need to find another BW diff.

If you look up the Blue Datto Foundation' it's a road safety course set up in memory of a 17 yr old called Phillip Vassallo?, who was killed in his 1200 ute. The 1200 ute running in the video is running a RB26 turbo & is a serious weapon. I like how he lost the race to the blown Commodore by breaking out, running a 7.90, obviously faster than his dial in.
