thanks guys! that was good fun

The old 120y kept up better then i expected.
now im left with a long list of improvements to make before the next cruise.
i only need to upgrade the brakes, suspension, engine . . . . .

i didn't realise that a "cruise" meant flog the living daylights out of your car, next time i'll come prepared

thanks boof for organising the day

Lay off the standard 120y!
mine was a standard granny spec auto and it did a respectable 80 kmh.

Fitted a fresh gx head, 32/36 weber and gave everything a good flush out and...

+160kmh and could have gone faster if i had another 5km of road

I still consider it stock'ish

I should be there in the much neglected 120y, but need to head back early.

Will try and rekit the carby before then as its been running rich, not pleasant for any1 behind me.

Does any1 know where i can get a kit for a 32/36 dgv on the cheap?

Is it alright if a non datsun tags along?

cheers guys

I wish i was able to make it,
between work and family commitments it was always going to be a long shot.

The event still looked good despite the lack of 1200's
and i would have loved to see that hot 2dr 120y

i'm really pissed that i missed this 1, mainly bcoz i would have been the 2nd best 120y there

i think there was more 1200's, 1000's @ the last Vic cruise
maybe we should have another1 in the near future, closer to the city so its easier for every1 to get 2

thanks to every1 that has been uploading pics, makes me regret not coming even more

The 120y struts are good if you intend on keeping the ride height standard.
I've lowered the front of my 120y with a set of king spring (lowers 1.1/4inch) and wacked in a set of monroe gt gas shocks. 3 months down the track and 1 of the shocks have already gone.
I was going to cut 2inch out of the strut and searched high and low for an alternative shock to use but could't find 1.
120y's where never made with the intention of being lowered or having performance breaking.
I suggest use parts off cars that where made with the intention of performance and you'll save yourself a lot of trouble and money.

thats my 2c anyway
