If you are using a stock carb they have a fuel cut-off solinoid ( spelling? ) attached to the carb that is meant to stop running-on. yours may be not working or connected properly..worth atry??

In canberra re-treads are only illegal on V8 powered passenger vehicles. All 4's and 6's can use re-treads not matter what power they can put out. So you can run re-treads on your 300kw GTR skyline but not a stock 1968 v8 kingswood with maybe 150kw??

Had same problems witha 32/36 weber on my 180b - it would idle realy bad but run fine under load - Turned out to be a vacume leak where the carby mate's the inlet manifold. New gasket fixed the problem. worth a try??

Thanks Boofhead,
the modds required seem easyier to do than find a 1000 ute diff. The guards shouldn't be a problem as I'm running 13's and there's heaps of clearance. I have to get a tail shaft made up as I have fitted a dellow 5pd that will require a custom shaft.
Thanks again.
Tyrone
