Thanks a heap Lobster but sorry I forgot to specify that I was after the 1600! The Sherrifs people only seem to have 1200's and 240z's unfortunately.

I did a search and found that the only aussie distributer for Ebbro is this place ..

www.graham-ruckert.com.au

So he has the full range of datto's, I am emailing him to find out how much they are etc so if anyone is interested let me now and I will find out prices for you.

Hi all

Just wondering how much I could expect to pay for a decent condition A14 motor with maybe a good carby, mild cam, extractors etc. Not anything too special, just a tidy little motor that would be a good upgrade from a standard A12!

Oh and if anyone has something like this for sale in the SE Qld area, please let me know!

Thanks a heap.

Anyways...

Does anyone know of any places in Australia that have these models for sale? I really want to get one for a friend for his birthday/christmas but have worked out it will be at least AU$115 to buy it and get it over here!

Alternately, maybe we could do some sort of group buy!?

Any other suggestions? Because this would be the perfect present!

Try this place:

Free Webz

They offer AD-FREE hosting (a big bonus) and heaps of other features, plus there's templates you can use to create your site, or you can just create it using a program or something then upload it.

I had a play around with it and found it very easy to use.

Good Luck! :)

Hi All

Just did a search for datto stuff on ebay and there's 2 items that may be of interest - an Ad for the 2-door 1200 and a Wheels magazine with a review on the 1970 1200...

Anyone interested?

Thanks for your quick responses!

L18_B110...

Yeah the wheels do kind up jump up and down like axel tramp, but no sign of any wheelspin. I'll check out the leafs and gearbox mount cos they sound the most likely, the shocks are good and so are the unis.

rgrinder ...

No I'm sure it isnt the clutch, I drove the car around the yard while my friend hung upside down out of the back window and looked under the car; theres definitely something wrong futher down the driveline.

I'll have a look next time I see the car.

Hello All!

I'm new to this list so I just thought I'd better introduce myself ... I have just bought a 1200 sedan as a runabout while my CA18 1600 is being fixed. I owned another 1200 a couple of years ago but ended up selling it which I really regret, but I think I'll be keeping this one for a while. It's pretty standard except for the 120Y front disc brakes we put in on the weekend.

Now onto the problem ...

When taking off normally, the back wheels kind of shudder up and down - looking underneath it seems to originate from where the tailshaft bolts onto the diff. There is a little bit of play in the diff but not a heap, and the rear seal is stuffed on the gearbox - would this have anything to do with it? The uni's seem to be fine - no play in them either.

When you give it more revs, and I mean a lot more, and ride the clutch heaps it doesn't do it, but I don't want to have to drive around like that all the time!

Hopefully someone has a solution for me!

Thanks.
