The images from the cruise are now online at www.turbophile.com - follow the link from the main page or look in the gallery. 120 images!! (hence taking so long to get them up!)

Thanks to everyone who attended, it was a great day! The next cruise will be held around Easter and will be a Sunshine Coast destination.

Cheers

Hi all,

Well I finally got my 1200 coupe that I have been after for aaages ... I bought it from a guy who had done a HEAP of work getting it restored and up to a pretty high standard. There's really nothing left to do except driveline - it will be recieving a CA18DET in the (hopefully not to distant) future.

For anyone who is interested, specs are as follows...

Year: 1971

Engine Hardware: Fully rebuilt A15

Engine Accessories: new 1 3/4" exhaust, chrome tip, all new leads & coil, reconditioned distributor

Induction System: E15/E16 carby with auto choke

Transmission - Driveline: Reconditioned Jatco 3-speed automatic gearbox, standard tailshaft and diff

Brakes: Stanza front struts shortened 40mm, Stanza discs and calipers, standard rear drums, Stanza master cylinder, Mitsubishi Lancer brake booster

Suspension: Stanza lower control arms, Toyota Celica Gabrielle gas shockies front, all new wheel cylinders, piston seals, shoes, 1" lowering block on rear leaf springs, all new neoprene bushes, tie rod ends and ball joints.

Wheels: 15" TRX rims, 195/50/15 new tyres, plus new spare

Bodywork and Paint: bare metal respray acrylic paint (medium blue - KC14), mostly debadged, all new rubbers, laminated windscreens, new door locks and ignition switch, bumpers painted in hammertone silver/grey

Interior Gadgetry: Mazda 121 front seats, rear seats re-upholstered to match, Autoteknica steering wheel, new carpet, doors cards, hoodlining, recovered dash. CD player with 4 speakers.

Pics are available on www.turbophile.com or here...

haha - I have been chasing Cameron for ages for details about the car. I see him at most of the sprints events (hence the photos on turbophile.com), I thought putting the pics up might motivate him to add some info too, but no luck so far.

I'm sure there are a heap of people out there eagerly awaiting some specs...!

I might email him again and see if we can get some action ...

Look forward to seeing you there ...

Nissan's are welcome too (the gti-r powered sss sounds sweet), but I am expecting that most of the cars will be older models datsuns. I wouldn't really say that its open to all car enthusiasts - there are other cruises organised regularly for all kinds of cars, and it would sort of defeat the point of it being a Datsun cruise!!

Cheers

Well the time has (finally!) come for the next cruise, it will be very similar to the one held in February of last year. We are still nutting out some of the finer details, but to make sure everyone can get the day off to attend, this is what has been decided so far ...

Date: Saturday 13th December 2003

Time: meeting at 12pm for socialising and BBQ (sausage sizzle and drinks available), for a 1.30-2pm cruise departure

Location: Wahminda Park on Samford Road in Ferny Grove (Ref. UBD Map 117, D17)

Cruise Details: still to be finalised, but most likely will head over Mt Glorious/Nebo, through past Wivenhoe Dam and Fernvale and end up at Willowbank Raceway for some racing or spectating at the Test'n'tune.

Those wishing to participate in the cruise will abide by all road rules and require a mechanically sound vehicle as the mountain ranges can be tough on brakes. Those who wish to disregard road rules will not be welcome on the cruise. Responsible driving is encouraged!

This post will be updated when the route has been finalised ... so keep watching. If you have any friends with dattos who would be interested in coming on the cruise, please let them know about it and and encourage them to send an email to brisbanedatsunclub@hotmail.com with their full name, car details and phone number so we can add their name to our contact list.

Looking forward to seeing lots of 1200's there!

No worries and thanks ddgonzal!

The green coupe (yes supercharged and turbo) is a very cool and quick little car. I do have some more photos of it (including engine bay etc) from the Gatton Sprints and have talked to the owner about featuring it on Turbophile, I am just waiting for him to send me some more info on the car.

I think I will put the pics up first anyway though, so I'll let you all know when they are ready.

Cheers

Hey all,
Just a quick note to let you know that the pics and videos from the recent Pittsworth Sprints (last weekend - 6th Sept) are now up on my website www.turbophile.com (theres a link from the main page). I can upload them to here also if there is a demand for it.

There's 5 1200 coupes and a 1600 as well as various other cars so it's probably worth a look for you guys! If anyone on here owns or has any information about any of the cars please let me know and I will add it to the site.

Cheers and happy datto'ing

Charlotte
