Thanks Damo but I decided not to get the coupe - too much time/work for me atm.

If you guys are considering going to Tamborine, you are welcome to use my map and pacenotes from the last QPDC cruise - located here (link for map etc is at the bottom of the page) - we went on a similar/identical route to the one you are talking about.

Cheers

Charlotte

Thanks Matty - I went and had a look at the coupe yesterday. :)

Nice and original and lots of spares but a bit rusty - I'm still thinking about it. How hard is it to get replacement rear guards for 1200 coupes by the way? Just in case... ;)

Cheers

hi it's Charlotte here.

Yes me and a couple of other guys (Tim (yellow FJ20t 2-door 1600) and Peter (red n/a SR20 200b coupe)) run the informal Qld Performance Datsun Club - website is www.qpdc.cjb.net

We have organised a few cruises around the Brissy area (sunny coast and gold coast too) and generally have a pretty good turnout - mostly 1600's (a few turbo's but not all!) and a few 1200's too. Have a look on my website www.turbophile.com in the gallery section for some pics. We are looking to organise one very soon out the back of Brissy (mt Glorious area) and ending up at Willowbank for some racing/watching.

I'll keep you guys posted as we would definitely like more 1200's to come in the future (completely stock or highly modified - whatever).

I can understand wanting to have a 1200 only cruise though, as well. When I get my 1200 coupe (still looking ) count me in! Just thought I'd let you know that you are all very welcome to come on our QPDC cruises though ... please don't feel left out or anything cos most cars are 1600's.

Cheers

Charlotte

Hmmm well I rang him up last night and offered $1500, but he said he wouldn't go lower than $2000; with no rego but a roadworthy and the rust fixed up. He said he didn't mind waiting for a true enthusiast who would appreciate it and pay the price!!

I consider myself a true enthusiast but am thinking he's prolly still asking a bit much, maybe after a couple of weeks when no one buys it he will reconsider...? I'm hoping so

ddgonzal thanks a lot for the link - very informative .... so .... the ones that I had on my old 1200 sedan - http://datsun1200.com/modules/myalbum/photo.php?lid=269 - are the deluxe style ones that came out on the coupe?

Just a quick question - are the wheel trims that came out standard on 1200 sedans the same as the 1200 coupe ones?

If they're different - does anyone have a link to a piccie of the coupe ones? And are they 12 or 13"?

Thanks!

Thanks heaps for your input people its much appreciated! And no sorry Ade I didn't ask about the Jeep.. ;)

The thing that impressed me most about it was its original condition, even down to the jack and jack handle (in its cover) in their original position clipped into the area under the boot, and the presence of the original manual. Nothing was broken or missing. Even the motor is original, the number matches the number on the plate in the engine bay, though it has been rebuilt.

So I'm thinking from what people have said I will offer him 1500 (with rwc and rego) and see what he says ... its worth a try!

Wasn't someone down south selling a full original 1200 coupe for like $6000? Has that been sold for that price does anyone know?
