I bought one brand new from ebay for $15 three days ago, but if you find a low mileage one at a wreckers snap it up it will have plenty of years left in it

http://swmotorsport.com.au/

I asked about his dual vallve springs last week and here is the email he sent back to me:
The springs are double & would be OK for 8000 RPM.
We prefer direct deposit but can also do Mastercard & Visa
Springs $96.95
The postage would be $12 express post.
So total cost with postage is $108.95

Regards
Stewart Wilkins

I have used powermaxx before and plenty of miscelaneous bits and pieces before with no dramas, used a mono torque head gasket but had a perfectly clean block deck and head face for the gasket to seal against so thats probably most of the reliability right there in the preperation.
Inside the motor you can use genuine nissan bearings or king bearings, they are rated pretty good, I always think that nissan over engineered these cars heaps since they seem to go and go and go forever with hardly any issuses ever, I just blew the starter motor the other day after 34 plus years of faithful starting, not bad I think!
Ebay is a good source for N.O.S. items, I bought a starter motor of there, N.O.S. bosche item for $15 plus $21 postage yesterday compared to $270 for a non genuine item from my local auto shop!

quite cheap for a new starter just not sure if 80-82 model pulsars used A series engines?

my mono torque head gasket for my A15 engine was tittled for A14/A15 so yes the A14 and A15 head gaskets are the same, just don't install it upside down like I did, the coolant will run out of the back of the head while your filling the radiator back up!

bugger I need one too now, sounds like the battery is flat but it is a near new 770cca battery with all new cables, clamps and is showing full charge, the starter motor has been sounding a bit crook for a while now so I spose I should have been expecting it, just sux it happened at all
