I read somewhere that you can jet them for two of three factors. The three factors being response economy and power I can't see economy being an issue for an A14 or A15.....or can it? just how bad, is bad, when it comes to economy for these motors?

when I did my motorcycle license lessons I had to ride around three islands in a boat launching parking bay. The three islands were configured so I needed to do almost 180 degrees around them then head to the next one, fang around it then onto the next one. The little course was shaped like a 3 leaf clover only a bit oblong. It was used to teach riders how to shift their weight into corners and initiate the turn in. Maybe you could find a bank of islands to use as a mini test track

you could contact Jeff Taylor for a JTS head fitted with double valve springs and big oval ports, try datrats for a reconditioned Bluebird dizzy with A series drive gear, carbs seem to be pretty good whether they are dellorto DHLA, weber DCOE or the hitachi su types I would say what ever you find at the right price, with the right jets installed for a 1500cc engine or what your displacement would be after boring out, sturt wilkins motorsport for all your gaskets, bearings, camshaft and other engine parts. 10,000RPM is a hell of a big task maybe need to look at roller rockers which need a bit of modification done to the guide plates to fit them, possibly dry sump lubrication, fully balanced bottom end and I am not sure how a dizzy would handel that RPM so possibly may need crank angle electronic ignition but even then 10,0000rpm is a bit errr explosive everything is just under so much pressure not only in the engine but also the clutch, flywheel water pump alternator and pressure plate but it would be pretty cool to watch a tacho needle hit the big 10

Quote: by converted on 2005/11/17 13:56:55 the induction roar will be louder then the exhaust holy crap really! I have got to get this thing into the coupe it sounds like it will be awesome compared to my clapped out rattling A12 currently getting me around! I actually think the standard A12 is pretty nippy so I actually can't even immagine what this A15 will go like, will be like driving a 6 cylinder falcon or commodore in acceleration terms?

alrighty I am leaning away from the manifold now which is a shame because I just installed new studs and cleaned all the old gasket and rust from the face with a flap disc on a grinder so it is perfectly flat. The studs took a hell of alot of work to get out all three broke off then I drilled them through the centre, broke 2 differnt easy out stud extractors, cut the studs off level with the flange, drilled the holes out to 6mm and bought a larger stud remover, which only got half of the stud out, the remainder then had to be retapped with an M8 tap ho hum that was pointless! so a set of extractors would be a better choice then into a 2 1/2 inch system would be ok. I wonder what it will sound like

Hi I am just trying to figure out what I should do about an exhaust system for my hotted up A15. It has a pair of DCOE 40 weber carbs, 54/86 cam, 11.0:1-11.5:1 compression ratio and a 1200GX exhaust manifold. I was thinking of heading down to the wreckers and just buying an old system from a 120Y since they had the twin outlet exhaust manifolds too....didn't they? or should I just tow it down to the exhaust shop and ask them to fit a single 2 1/4 inch system with a straight through muffler and a hot dog resonator at the end? I don't want it to sound too brapppy but want it to sound meaty if that makes any sense!

also a power drill and wire brush accessories will make short work of cleaning the exterior of the block, timing cover, engine mounts, rocker cover and air filter assembly!
