Yeah I guess your right, just thinking out loud, Besides my crazy cam would make the a turbo set up a nightmare to tune.
I think I will look around for a manual parts car and convert mine to a manual for a bit more poke and save the headaches of turbo tuning for another day
Cheers for the input it always helps to get oppinions of others, The car is pretty quick at the moment, quick enough to beat CIVICS and MAGNA'S what more could I ask from a 1.5L pushrod non crossflow 4 cylinder eh!

So, here I am with my performance high compression A15 naturally asspirated sedan and I am watching all these turbo A series making heaps more power and I am thinking hmmm how can I lower the C/R to make turbo power possible and make the most of MY headwork!.
I know your all thinking "isn't he selling his car???" yeah but it might not sell and I am hoping in the back of my mind I can keep it but just don't tell the missus
So as the title says, can I use some A14 rods to lower the C/R or would I need an A14 crankshaft to do the job, if so what would the C/R be after installing it, at the moment I have 11.0-1 in the A15

no not much just exhaust needs to be upgraded, engine mount adapter bars, some ange iron will do, just cut two 6 inch lengths and sit the engine in the bay bolted to your box then while the engine weight is supported by the lifting tackle just measure the distance between the mounts and crossmember then drill holes in the angle iron accordingly and bolt the angle iron to the mounts and the crossmember, easy job mate don't stress too much

or if your lazy like me I just joined the red and blue to the positive side of the coil the black to earth and the green to the negative side of the coil, the light on the tacho is on when the car is running day or night thats the only difference

faaaaark I don't think I am making half as much power with my built A15, I am guessing that the secret of the power was in the tuning of the fuel injection, spark timing and intercooling?
definately load pics and vid this I gotta see!

hows your linkages mate, just thinking perhaps the throttles are not opening right up 100%? It's a long shot but worth thinking about
Also I just noticed it was quite cold coming home from night shift this morning and my carb doesnt have a choke, the engine wouldn't rev past 3500rpm until I got further down the road I could open it up to 6-7000rpm and pass trucks once the motor warmed up, maybe your engine needs to be warmed up before she will rev freely? how warm was your motor when you tested it?, Lets hope this mechanic will be of some help this time round

wow looks so soft and weak! I am sure it's as stiff as my mother in laws upper lip though!
Is it true that if you over heat your engine even slightly you can soften the competition valve springs causing them to not be able to let the engine rev as much as before?
