awesome absolutely friggin awseome!
I feel another project looming around inside my head just waiting for the right time to emerge, a tough A15 only entertains you long enough to allow you to discover the crazy end of the power scale.
Bring on the power skids

Bugger here in WA I just put the motor in and thats it, no engineers cert, roadworthy cert, it was already rego'd so it still is a stock 1200 as far as the rego goes, can't be bothered with all that legal nonsense

you could also make do with a weber adapter plate for $40 if you have no luck with a cannon manifold

have you tried running the wire direct from the battery to the coil yet?
I was just thinking about my set up, I have a thermo fan, electric fuel pump, tachometer and power to turn my CD player on, all hooked up to the black and white wire that goes straight to the positive terminal on the coil, it was the easiest place for me to find 12V with the ignition on so everything was wired up to that except the fuel pump and thermo fan are run through a relay which is only switched from the coil voltage, perhaps I am having a voltage drop from all the accessories using power from the coil?
Do you have a similar set up or just a coil dedicated power feed? if you are like me and have crap all powered from the coil voltage supply then maybe we are in the same boat?
Hope you have some luck soon you must be itching to get it fired up and ready rip A$$ I know I was

And change your oil filter too, when you pull the plug out of the sump and the last bit of old oil is dripping out of the sump, pour a little bit of new oil into the engine and allow it to run through the engine to drain most of the remnants of the old oil out of the engine.
So when you put the new oil in you have drained most of the old oil out before you fill it with new oil, no point in putting clean oil in a dirty engine hey!
I used to run mobil one in my commodore in winter and 50w 40 mineral oil in summer and never had problems by following the above procedure
I am a bit of an oil change fanatic!

theres a yellow 1200 ute in Perth with a blown commodore engine, it kicks arse serious arse! not sure of 1/4 times but it is a very torquey performance ute, so I guess it can be done but not sure how much is invloved in making it fit, box to fit in tunnel, radiator to fit, exhaust to fit and computer mounted and wiring loom sorted out, can't be that hard
