hmm just looked at some pictures of manifolds on here and it appears that the exhaust ports were in the same place on all variations of the A series , so they SHOULD fit in theory. also if anyone in Perth buys them I will throw in the 2 inch exhaust system that was on the car, which is fine but I had to cut it in half near the diff, to get it off the car.
As they won't suit my in intended purpose I have decided to put of my set of extractors on the market. they are a rare 4 into 1 style and are designed for a 1000.. they might also fit a 1200 but on a 1000 they clear the steering joint by about a centimetre. oh and they are off an A15. they have been painted with a heat proof coating several years ago and are showing some light surface rust. I can post some pics of them in my old B10 when I can find them. I am asking $250 as they have seen less than a year of regular use and it would cost over $700 to have a set like these fabricated. freight would be about $40 off the top of my head to any of the eastern states. Obviously Perth people are welcome to pick them up.
As a result of an old dear wanting her yard cleaned out I have a 411 bluebird that would otherwise go to scrap at my disposal. I'm not going to put a dollar value on anything yet, but I'm just seeing if there is any interest in parts. (In the interest of helping enthusiasts the prices would would be extremely reasonable at any rate) I would just feel alot better if parts could go to keeping other classic datsuns on the road instead of going through the menacing jaws of a simsmetal crusher to nothingness.
anyway , no stress, would anyone or does anyone know of anyone interested in any parts?
like most of you guys most of my collection has come from finds in cars I've bought, hand me downs from Dad and sometimes even tools left in cars at pick-a-part (RIP)
I've probably paid for less than 10% of all the tools I own. sometimes though when you are doing a tricky job under a car with little clearance you might need to buy the odd socket or extension but that's fair enough.
Favourite tool : 12 inch toledo brand flathead screwdriver I call 'The Persuader' I have claimed victory with this in many vocabulary building situations
oh and by the way dowidat and fuller pro make some very good handtools, surprised no one has mentioned them
lol.. a few too many jackass videos eh? I would have loved to see the footage if you had filmed it... brrrrr . CRUNCH .. AH F%$% keep them coming guys, this has shaped up to be a pretty entertaining thread. and now my 'bodge' isn't seeming much like one anymore :\
Yes , as the title suggests what is the dodgiest bodge you have ever performed on a car to keep it on the road that little bit longer? and yes for those that have seen the ABC series of the same name we are aware that you can use a tree limb tied in with fencing wire thru the floorplan of an EH holden when the crossmember collapses but let's keep it realistic..
I'm sure this will pale in significance to what others can offer up but here goes - Had my rear quarter window of my camira smashed in by some nocturnal species a few days before going on a trip down south.. not wanting to eat into the entertainment budget and paying pretty much what I'd bought the car for , I had to fashion a quick fix. So necessity being the mother of invention I knew I had a metre of perspex handy, which I cut to a quickly traced template on cardboard. after some adjustment with an anglegrinder and eventually finding the bolt to remove the inner frame it was in, and notwithstanding it being the only non-tinted sidewindow and the non-glasslike scratches caused during installation - who would have known? so much so that it was forgotten until long after I had sold the car..
