Just got my A15 and bits out of a garage where they have been stored longterm to discover that there has been a hole in the roof and the boxes they were stored in were filling up with water in the winter :\

so the starter and alternator (which were both good items are now rusted solid or paperweights)

does anyone have a unit or two they would like to sell?

I know this topic was directed towards the use of EFI. But for the people who have been talking about webers I thought you may find this handy.
After lots of of messing around and using the cheap facet pumps from supecheap I wish I had found this webpage in the first place.

http://www.racetep.com/webfuelspark.html#webfuel

It also tells you some good info about ignition systems.

hey beattie, any news on the 165 LSD into 411 housing conversion?
as I know of a 411 rotting away in some old dear's driveway ;)

another option would be the borg warner as found in the VN-VR commonwhores and EA - EF falcons. yes way too wide for a 1200 - BUT *drumroll* the R31 skyline uses the same diff but the center is offset to one side. I've heard that you get the longer side cut down to match the shorter side and it's a common conversion for KE25 -KE55 corollas. I shouldnt think the 1200 would be much different of a track.
Having a diff in this family then opens your options to a myriad of ratios and easy to find LSD's .
though that winters diff would look trick polished up under a neat 1200 wouldnt it?

I have been to a couple of meetings with the locost club (the car you build from the book 'build your own sportscar for ₤250 or less) and its frustrating to say the least of our fruitless toils of trying to get some leeway from our licensing bodies. It's really irritating to see what the hotrod guys are allowed to do on cars up to 90 years old. we are essentially dealing with cars that are driven probably 5% of the time of most ordinary family sedans. But we have to comply with the latest euro emissions specs and demonstrate chassis rigidity that would have made jack brabham happy in the 1970s. what we need is something to separate home builders from commercial entities under this ICV regulation and a different subset of rules allowing use of cheaper / common engines essentially in cars that are safer in regards of braking and handling than most cars on the market today. Yes it's a shame as I had a sweet mild A15 sitting in a friends shed earmarked for just such a project, But i've since given up hope and decided to find a nice morris minor for it as I've always wanted one and now even more that Ive found datto engines are such an easy conversion

Look if you really must defile what was once a sweet handling little package with that behemoth of an engine, then that is purely up to you.

but you'd really not be treading any new grounds. The 53 chevrolet that had a rolls royce merlin is (and probably always will be) the most over the top car ever registered in australia.
Good luck if you do it though, It would be a weapon as a burnout / drag car

people must be getting the message as I was at pick a part yesterday and there were over 10 pulsars and all of them were sans dizzys. its a shame the CA20 is such an unloved motor as there were about 6 clean looking pintaras which had them that were unbutchered and some were manual too.

That would be a nice little relic to dust off sometime mick
I saw a 1600 at auto tuning center in welshpool once that had one of george fury's old Z18 Turbo bathurst engines in it, the snail was absolutely humungous! wonder if it's still kicking about

If you want I've got 4 1000 wheels with 80% tread on all, that you could have for a case of coldies! (and I'm in Perth) :)
