the most interesting supercharged car I have ever seen was this austin healey special that came into the mechanic's next door when I was working at this yacht place. the entire flip front was replaced with fibreglass and I peered inside to see this wade supercharger which was about half as big as the six cylinder engine in it! the thing was a racecar from the 50s which was bought out from retirement a couple of times a year for the york flying 50 and the classic rally. the mechanic working on it said it was overboosting despite it having a couple of big blow off valves ,after the supercharger and one on the manifold. It was in to get a problem sorted with the crank pulley, but unfortunately I didnt get to hear it running because the owner was rather anal about it... though having a car like that do you blame him?

well, as much as it pains me to say it.. the hour is upon us

my datsun 1000 is going up for sale

I really had wished to get it up to scratch in order to get licensed. But now I have found a wagon and my needs dictate the change.

The body is pretty good as 1000s go, as to be expected it has the odd hailstone ding here and there but there is a nice ripple parking blunder behind the drivers door.
I had done several fibreglass body repairs.

It comes sans engine, but is pretty much complete apart from that. there are a few things to do depending on what you want to use it for, but its not a basket case by any means. the interior is in excellent condition too, as I had it partly retrimmed.
also has a 2 inch system in good nick with a hotdog. oh and also the battery is relocated to the boot.. cable and battery box is worth $150 alone

if you want, there are some pics of it at this site :

I'm asking $300 at the moment, but will be open to offers. I also have a few spares to throw in.

I'd rather see it go to a good home then wrecked or thrashed to death.

PM me here for more info.

regards,

Tom.

yea.. I just discovered yesterday that this poindexter had also removed the locking mechanism from the tailgate and sealed it shut with silastic. and the c*#t had been doing compression lockups and put the fan into the radiator. so theres going to be some work to do. anyone with any wagon parts?

oops... That wouldnt by any chance be the wagon I bought on friday? the front of it is in pretty poor shape. one of the fenders is fibreglass (dont ask me how) and it is poorly fitted. and the other side has the sill cut out of it. there is a bit of rust in the passenger side front door aperture. the guy who had it is apparently a mechanic and tried doing up the motor by putting each cylinder at bottom dead center and using a hone.. he then wondered why the motor had no compression afterwards??

anyway I have been trying to get my sedan licensed for ages and now my needs have changed that I need to carry around more gear. I am going to pull off the good bits from the (sedan) and put them into the wagon. oh yea and the wagon also has a coupe steering wheel , gearknob and a 1200 gearbox and clutch. So the sedan (2door) may be up for sale semi complete soon. interior pretty much retrimmed or vgc, pretty good body, battery relocated to boot etc etc.

I am now looking to upgrade the cam in my A15. (it is standard) I have a DGV web, 4 - 1 extractors + 2 inch system and pulsar electronic ignition (yay!)
I just want a cam to bring these mods to life.. nothing super peaky or fuel guzzling.

what cams have you guys had success with?

yea I got a set of pedders for mine

I have the book 'build a sports car for 250 pounds' (lotus 7 replica) and it wouldnt be too hard to fabricate the multi link kind of suspension with coil over shocks they use.
