haha COOL .. just had a look at a few pages and still working things out but I want that dash! also A frames have been illegal in Australia since the 70s I think.. I heard of that it was a common thing for early drag rails and the like to be towed to meets with A-frames but the only place you see them now is the usual suzuki sierra towed behind the Bus of the grey nomad set touring Australia ;)

Sorry people, the diff is now definitely sold.
Well the price is one I'm happy with and was more than I expected when I first thought of selling the thing - just don't shock me and tell me they go for 4 times as much!
nah, it's all good.. it's better we have enthusiasts getting this stuff, not investors who have no interest in the cars buying up a shedload of gear because they will double their money in 5 years.

1000ute : the avatar was created waaaay back when i joined in 2002, on the much slower computer I was running then , it was actually not so epilepsy-inducing lol.

UPDATE : I also have for sale 1 pair (front + rear) of datsun 1000 bumpers with overriders. The bumpers are both perfectly straight but the chrome is starting to get a bit of rust in it. (the have been off a car for 10 years)so would need sandblast and rechrome. rubber on overs is good and fully intact. I havent seen many of these around and they look great on a wagon (but they fit all models of 1000) $75 the pair.

Just wondering if anyone knows who can straighten and rechrome bumpers in WA
had some nice person hit my 68 corona (yes I know it's a toyota but dont hold it against me) passing me on the inside on a single lane street in the bicycle lane literally about 20metres from my friends house so he's completely at fault.
luckily the damage to my car was very minor , just pushed the bumper in and rubbed some paint from the wheelarch. his car was a different story. I'm sorry for the guy as he was from queensland and over for his dads 60th or something and it was a hire car with less than 700km on it. I'm going to be fair and charge him only for the bumper and do the bodywork myself. Just a little annoyed as it was a new bumper last year. does anyone know anyone who can handle this work in Perth and what might it cost? luckily its a 3 piece bumper and the damage is relegated to the passenger side corner piece. he was good about it and didnt call police and was going to take a picture of it in a carpark and say it happened there. I just need to get a quote so I can get some money off him before he/ we forget about it. Was pretty crook at the time because of all the hours I've spent on it fixing the head gasket and eliminating all the clueless about mechanics bodges. thanks anyway, Tom.

I've never had a problem with ACL gear and use it exclusively. though permaseal sort of gets a bad wrap from me possibly unfairly as the only one I did ever use , I installed the wrong way around and felt like a right spanner when coolant came pissing out all sides of the head when I went to fill it haha! ACL at least simplifies it for plebs like me by printing which side goes where on the gasket itself. even though hey say it's not necessary , I always back off all the bolts after 500kms and retorque to be on the safe side.

is automotive tuning centre in welshpool still open?
Darrell Penley used to always have weberised rally and race cars on the dyno all the time there.
but I also think the good old 'tune by ear' guys are getting rather thin on the ground

lol I only carry the imperial spanners because they sometime fit the sizes of bolts I cant find or have been too lazy to buy metric spanners for. The only time i like to deal in imperial is when blowing up tyres or putting boost into a motor :)

no never the 12.. got 2 of them aswell as 10s , 11s , 13s and 14s (you always seem to have a nut with a bolt on the other end in a tricky spot that needs doubles to undo) but I recently lost my 8 (just when I need it for my motorbike) and I always seem to need a 15 . I try to never lend my tools out and I only lose them when they get left hidden under a pile of junk in some wreck that gets sent to simsmetal. (karma for pocketing others left in wrecks at pick a part) I've got one of those 3 tiered fold out red metal boxes you get from bunnings. they are excellent especially for under $40 and sturdy, the only weak point with them is get a stronger handle for them as the one they come with is not really up to carrying the amount of tools necessary to work on a car.
