I'll spread it around my school on Monday, the datsun owners I know of I'll tell them theres a cruise and where to go etc..

where do we go?

Tyrie - I might just have the 200b running and I'll get a certificate instead of rego for the cruise, if it's safe for me to drive *finger cross*

I wanted to ad, even if it isn't /your/ datsun - if you know of anything that isn't in allclassifieds.com.au (i check a few times a day..yeah no life I realise.) or if you stumble across something on ebay or on the street... or worth of mouth, anything really, can you let me know and I'll have a look?

Thanks again,

I already posted it in Allclassifieds.com.au but I figured I'd up my chances a little by posting here..

I'm looking to buy a Datsun, preferably a 200b or 1200, Anything really. Looking in the range of anywhere up to 600-650, I don't expect a whole lot, but I'm sure theres something out there that runs well enough and can have registration without alot of major work. I'm not looking for a lemon or something I need to relace a whole lot on.

Anything out there for around my price range I'd be more then happy to come take a look at.

Er uh, located in Canberra or surrounding area, preferably.

Thanks ! :)

I heard those Camira's were absolute trash - engine blows like nothing else...

I've got like 600 dollars lol, I should look for another job, my old one didn't pay me enough to cover the petrol I used during it.. Damn pizza hut..

What are a few prices on some datsuns ? Like 1200's and the like? I was out looking at cars today and everything I've been looking at is in bloody pieces.. I don't even own a pair of vice grips yet, I can't put a car together lol..

Thanks for the offer, if I can't find anything else in the next week I may consider it..

I tried making him feel guilty for going back on his deal with me, I offered more money, and I offered him tea - along with a quicker pickup date, a faster payment date, and I even considered throwing in some Anzac biscuits.. I didn't get the car.. Guess I'll get some exercise on my 27 km walk to school..

Tyrie : It's beige, 4 speed manual, bloke lives near Bungendore.. I'd offer him more if I had more but I don't really.. Thats a good idea, though. I'll see what I can do.

Thanks :)

Oh noooo.. The guy I'm buying the car off of on Friday (still the main plan) wrote me and said he might be selling it to his nephew ! ! What should I do to persuade him to keep with his word that the car was being sold on me... Ah I'm going to weep if I don't end up getting it ... I actually really need a car too

Good ol' internet relay chat. I was thinking I could set a channel up on dal.net as I frequent that server anyways.. There seems to already be one or two channels set up so I don't think thats quite worth it.. I'm in the #datnet channel now and it's just me and this other guy - perhaps we should have people, who are always connected to the internet or whatever, to idle in there when they aren't home - or aren't paying attention .. Just so it looks better then having 1 person or 2 in there.

Just a suggestion..

I was thinking .. without doing any research, at all... I had a CA20 powered Pintara once.. Ah memories .. It wasn't the fastest creature, but it ran well and no matter what broke it was always cheap as hell to fix. The gearbox was solid and the engine was strong as.. Plus it was EFI -

I highly, HIGHLY doubt the mounts line up, at all, and would then require custom mounts for it - but if there was anything I could use from a CA20 based car on this Stanza, I'm wondering if anyone knows. Such as gearbox (doubt it) or complete engine. Carbureters scare me to tell the truth I don't know much about them at all. I didn't mind the power that came from the CA20 I owned - but recently I've been getting used to a 3.8L Commodore so I guess I should just save for something better..

In the future I was planning on something along the lines of an FJ20DET, CA18DET, or, if /remotely/ possible - and only if needing to remain the same displacement - a GA16 out of an NX.. I'm not a fan of SR20's as they're just so common - and I like the more old school engines.. I'm only thinking of engines I know a little about..

I was looking at differences between the L16 and L16SSS, seems the difference lies in the camshafts and ports/valves.. could I not grind out the exhaust ports - throw on a bigger exhaust, and have a few hp out of that?

I know I said I didn't want to do an engine swap.. but maybe instead I can replace a few things - here and there - preferably something I can do in my driveway style .. Just to give me a little more power ...

Any idea's ?

I don't /quite/ remember if it was the same car I'm thinking of..but..was it track raced ? sort've ghetto looking front spoiler (no offense..practical - just wasn't the most pretty of sorts.) .. I think I remember reading up on your car - I don't have the magazine anymore.. left it in Canada =(

It /was/ a track car though.. wasn't it? Not some little street car?

Hmm.
