There are still a lot of A14's and A15's racing but mainly in circuit and rally. Your question re: 15's depends on your diff/gearbox combo and whether you currently run out of revs or speed at the end of the 1/4. The fastest A series circuit race cars that I have seen all run 13's and pull big revs. I have 14's for circuit racing but have a low diff ratio.

It is unfortunate but he did advertise these specials 3 days before you posted your ad so it's just bad timing for you but certainly not intended.

Davo mate - I admire your tenacity with your coupe and this motor! It's got a good history and I know Jeff will be stoked (in a Jeff sorta way!) to see it again. It was one of his best...

This conversion has been done in NZ for a 1200 race car so it is possible. I can't recall the gearbox that was used but from what I heard the whole package went well and was potent in the 0-1300cc race class.

What I find funny is that nothing was open here in the US when you first posted - it's too early on the East Coast!

Did you speak to Mark, Rick, Paul, Dave, Russ or Kathy?

Next time you call tell them Teretonga said wazzup boyz.

Check that the shoe springs are all where they should be. Pull the shoes off and see how the cylinder is. Check the wheel cylinder - if the bore is pitted it can jam. Or the internal spring may be broken or jammed too.

There will be an access hole in either the drum or backing plate to access the brake adjuster. There may be a rubber plug blocking the hole.
Using a small screwdriver, turn the adjuster wheel inside until the drum spins freely and can be removed.
If it stil won't move try and hit the outside of the drum flange where the shoes are pressing against. Use the hammer to hit towards you i.e from the inside of the wheel well out.

As I said I haven't pulled a 1000 drum off but this should see you right.

I haven't pulled the drums off a 1000 but on other Dattos you can use a couple of 10mm bolts that screw into the brake drum and allow you to wind the drum off over the shoes. Also try tapping the drum off toward you with a rubber or wooden hammer. Tap all around the diameter so that it clears the shoes evenly.
