Hey Bart - just like the cars we're all getting older and the priorities do change. I am trying to stay with the A series but that is through racing and not spending untold time trying to keep them warranted and rego'ed.
Could be an option for you with Ruapuna close by and doing sprints or clubsport?

I race an N14 Pulsar with a GA16DE and they are a wonderful motor. Mine is due to come out for an SR20VE and I have been considering keeping the GA for my Lotus 7 project or in my 1200. If someone has the time to RWD these they won't be disappointed.

I have owned an A14 N10 Pulsar before and if I still had it I would investigate putting a complete GA16DE and gearbox in from an N14 Pulsar. I have 1 of these engines in a Club Sport car and even standard it is a lot of fun. Find 1 and take some measurements. If this is your life long car then a GA or an SR18/20 is a good choice but use their gearboxes also.

Did you import those wheels or are they available locally?

I bought one in 2002 for $150 and put over 100000 k's on it. The A14 dogleg 5 speed made for a fun combo and they were only sold for 6 months in Aus before the E series motor was slotted in. Only weak point due to age and availability was the gearbox.
I wouldn't do one up with the intention of making money on it as interest in them is low to non-existent unless you are Wombat from Tassie who loves the whole Datsun Cherry scene!
Great as a commuter/knock around car.

Both will be fine. Preference for me would be the 63A - stronger gearbox that can handle more torque and you have more ratio options available.

Get in touch with Craig (Converted) who I believe you know in Sydney. He did the trip last year with a camper and 4 kids and I remember he got a real good deal for his. His rig was so big I had to cut branches off trees in my driveway so he could make it in.
If you can't get hold of him let me know.
