I did many happy k's in a N10 A series Pulsar while living in Aus. It was a standard 5 Speed Dogleg box attached to an oval port A14. For what it was it went fantastically well. Check the engine number as they only used the A14 in the N10 for about 6 months until the E series was available.

Make up spacers of around 10mm and put on the gearbox mount between the floor and the box. This will move the box away from the body which also helps the drive shaft move away from the floor.

I can confirm that the long beds here in NZ had a two piece tail shaft.
Also had the issue of lowering my coupe so much that the driveshaft hit. I made up spacers for the gearbox and that solved the problem.

I was woken at 5.45am by my brother-in-law calling from NC to see if we were ok. Being further south we had slept through it - no such luck with last July's 7.8 quake!

There are a couple of active members on here from Christchurch so no doubt they'll have stories to share.

dd's photo is taken on Auckland's North Shore and is part of an ad for the Datsun Roadstar Utes that were sold here in the 80's.

It can be condensation accumulating on the inside of the rocker cover. Check your radaitor for a water level drop or oil contamination as this would indicate head gasket or cracked head. If it is a head gasket then they are simple as to do.
