Hi Linc,

I've employed a variety of methods in the past including using wood, wire, trolley jacks, over weight friends, bench vises and a rocker cover that Chris Lott
doesn't know I've got.

All are dangerous and I'd strongly recommend borrowing a set or buying - it's the only way to go. I learned the hard way....

Good on ya Chris - is there anything left?!!
I'm in Winston Hills and would welcome the chance to check out your twelve O - I've got withdrawals at the moment 'cos I'm
temporarily without my coupes!
If you're keen for a visit email me at ian_richardson@scholastic.com.au

Cheers.

My only reference is from Lindfield - driving the boss's Prelude. Of course in a Datty it'd be
twice as fast!

Datsun New Zealand developed a 1200 SSS sedan which they sold in the early '70's. I think the Ockers had one as well - but I'm sure they simply copied the innovative Kiwis.
I'm trying to remember whether the SSS was actually attached to the Datsun 1200 badging or just stuck beside it. Any way they looked primo and your best bet would be to
contact someone like Rare Spares in NZ to get a brand new or NOS set.

If you want to go cheap you can go to Nissan Australia and pick up their gorgeous stick on SSS badge that they have on the current Pulsar.

Have you posted pictures of your 1000?

Chris, you've suffered with an unnatural fascination with synthetic lubricants and flame detailed rocker covers for too long. Get in that coupe and find out when those datty's will be
racing next - and go there - it'll heal you from your present illness.
When you get a chance check out Pikey's car and see if you can spot the original cheater bits introduced when it raced in Shell Sport. Also you'll spin out when you see his motor - it's
not just the full gloss black rocker cover - but it's the location of the oil fill cap in relation to his fire wall. Tricky and very competitive....

Yes I've temporarily defected to Aus leaving a few coupes in the shed back home. One of my reasons for coming here was to see Andrew run his coupe at Eastern Creek - even rented
a house close to it - but now he's got the CA for sale:( So no luck there.
I think I saw that Rotang Viva run at the Goldrush Hillclimb in Wanaka a while back. Was that your Nana driving? She had cleaned the K&N that day!!

Have you checked your water flow? Could be a waterjacket/pump problem. I had this happen once to a friend's Mitsi - the pump impeller blades had dissolved so there wasn't
what you would call brilliant water circulation. It was overheating pretty chronic - but then it was a Mitsi!! Have you got Matthew's old coupe or is this one you've built
up?

Chris you are whack. Leave the VMX in the coupe and sell the Syntrax to your Nana for her Viva - her speed shifts are starting to lag.
Take her money and really go to town on your rocker cover mods - and colour code the oil fill cap. Then everything will be more
choice, eh bro!
