Well... you just violated the first rule of Fight Club.

We're off to a bad start.

It does seem like they are cast after doing some forum searching

"I'm pretty sure the ones that Pitroad sells are manufactured by Tomei and are the same pistons I have in my A14. Pitroad had given me like a year estimate for production so I ended up buying a set that Feral had. They're great quality and I've bought other stuff from Pitroad. They were fast with the shipment but the language barrier sucks because they use translation software so you have to write things to them in the simplest form for an accurate translation. Matsuoka sells cast pistons in 79mm too but they don't deal internationally I don't think. Andy (when he gets back) goes to their shop on a regular basis though I think."

"78 and 79mm A15 pistons are readily available through Matsuoka... I think they get 'em from Wiseco. They range from 45K-68K Yen, which is $580-$875 AU. They're all flat top, high compression"

Thanks for all the info, I think I'm going to hang on to them for now.

Thanks! I guess the mystery is solved. I was just putting them away and noticed the words "A15 79(/) scribbled in faded pencil on the box.

Thanks again.

Thanks for that info!

I can vaguely remember him saying these can be used for this car if it ever needs a rebuilt, but you will have to bore it out.

I guess these are it?

The first thing I did was look for markings inside, nothing. =(

While we were putting new carpet in the house, I found this box of flat top pistons that came with a 1000 that have forgotten about. Anyone seen these before? The manual is in Japanese and I can't really see the maker of them. The only words I see are KSVCI, which yield nothing from a Google search. They are about 78mm across, I guess they are oversized for A15? Any info would be great! Here are a few pictures:
