The sound of a drive line smacking the tranny hump isn't good. I blew up a drive line doing a burn off on a country road by a friends house luckly.

does only do it with your hand on the knob if so remove hand from knob except when shifting.

If you have a dremel tool you can slot the sheer bolts and unscrew them

put two bolts in the fly wheel end grab a big srcew driver and move the rachet till its snug on the engine stand and break it loose that way.

It does come off with two big screw drivers or two tire levers I did two in about 10 min.
