I am looking for a ca18det motor,
ca16 block
ca18det loom and computer
5 speed turbo rwd box from silvia or skyline including tailshaft yoke

basically a full half cut type motor with turbo, gearbox, airflow meter and manifolds etc.

DOESN"T MATTER IF ENGINE or TURBO BLOWN as long as heads, afm, computer and mainifold are ok

Building CA16DET for my wide body Datto 1000 fastback as I can only go 1.6L turbocharged for QLD roadworthy

please send a pm or phone Justin 0432195678
I am located in brisbane so prefer parts in brisbane region

I am not in a hurry so can wait if someone is doing a conversion on there silivia or something

Willing to spend up to $1000 for running halfcut type situation. Will help pull out of car if required.

I have used pearl on a car mixed into the paint not in the clear and it came up quite good It also means you get a perfect paint ratio to pearl ratio and the clear is just clear which make touch ups a lot easier. I never tried to touch it p though cause it was on my race ute in townsville and we did a colour change on it after about 2 years as we need to fix all the panel damage from racing. As for white as a base and then pearl I think it might be ok is you mixed the pearl into a bright white paint but all the perals I have seen that have been in the clear coat have looked really dirty, this is generally because celar coat goes off after a while in the sun and changes the colour of the paint. similar to pine when it is clear vanarished and goes yellow after a year or two. I don't know of any clears that will not do that, though you could ask some panel beater I guess. My friend in townsville did his rx7 in a white but actually tinted the paint so it was slightly green which make the car look similar to glow paint colour with the gren and blus pearl over it, it looks pretty good as it hasen't gone a noticable dirty eggshell colour as the green masks the clear gong off.

Anyway just my to cents worth.

the sensor is really easy to do anyway they just cut a small hole usually with the oxy torch and then weld a nut with the right thread over it. It is only like a 5minute job if it is eay to get to.

The sensor thingy is the oxygen sensor.. Yes you can run a car without it. The problem is though when the car goes into closed loop mode in the ecu it needs the o2 sensor to read the levels in the exhaust to adjust the fuel mixture. A car goes into closed loop mode whenever you crusie at a constant speed or gentle accelerate. If there is no sensor then the car will compensate and add more fuel on the nissans as a safety factor. which means you get bad fuel economy and horrible smoke from it running rich everytime you step on it.

If you have ever been in a car with a air/fuel ratio guage you know that it has reached closed loop mode once the lights on the gauge move backwards and forwards at a constant pace like the light on front of knight rider.

Increasing spark only helps ignite the fuel in the engine, yes the higher the volts the bigger the spark, but all it does is really help ignite the fuel a lot quicker and giving you more of a chance to burn all the fuel in the cylinder instead of some. In a high performance engine that has had the works done to it, expensive spark plugs, electonic iginition, cams and valve set, then yes the volts will increase horsepower but in the tests I have seen on dyno's you gain maybe 3-5 Kw's on a 450KW motor. So unless you are chasing big horsepower it is hardly worth it. I have seen coils the are 65000 volts out perform coils double there output size, it really depends on how well they are built and do they suit the application.
The other guy is right in what he says about burning stuff out to be careful beacuase big volts can fry small wires and contacts etc in distributers if they are not of good quality. You also need to be warey of how well everything is shielded to a mate of mine put a msd balster coil on a subaru off road car and we found that the spark was jumping in the distributer because the coil was to powerful for the distributer set up. the problem was fixed by adding bakerlite shields but was a real pain to do.

The best thing on an old car is to at least fit an electronic ignition module even if you keep the points in the distributer the sparks are a lot cleaner and you can set the points and forget about them as the points will never burn out.
I have built both the trandy and jaycar one and fitted them to different cars and have never had to touch the points again.

That is how I would do it scan the gasket in with some measurements on it so you can scale the picture to the correct size and then you can trace around the outside, would only take 5 or ten minutes to do it. I do it all the time with old house plans etc that are in imperial dimensions
