I just got mine from Autobarn. Can you no longer get them from there anymore?

If you have the option get the one for flat searing wheels even if you are using the dished ones as it will mean that you wont be getting your finger caught on the indicator stalk when you turn corners.
Also if you need to bend the stack. Make sure that you only bend the stalk and not the bit at the end that changes between high and low beam and sometimes it means that it connects the two at the same time which blows your headlight fuse.

Quite annoying really. Happened to me and to my friend.

I think the A10 would be just fine. Mabe an A12 if you are getting all crazy. But an A14?!?!? That's just too far...

http://www.club4ag.com

Click on "Enter"
Click on "Reference"
Click on Section 2 "4A-GE/GZE Specification and Data"
Then all you have to do is listen to annoying music....

Just about everything you have ever wanted to know about any of the versions of these engines.

What did people do before the internet to find out about various engines?

Quote from a wrecker when he was telling me about the 5 speed he had in his 1200 ute
"They are rare as chicken's lips mate..."

I still got a 4 speed. Idealy I would like a 5 speed, but they are too rare in Australia. and if you do find one they will be overpriced. And, as (rumour says) mos tof the 5 speeds in Australia have the same ratio 5th gear as 4 speeds have 4th gear.

I am probably wrong about that though. Feel free to correct me.

Hmmm interesting....
do you have a closer pic of the front spolier/air damn/whatever you want to call it thing?
I was thinking of getting one from Canberra Auto Styling but that one looks interesting....

geez would you look at all of you jumping on the bandwagon

But I was looking around and I found this tiny tiny web site that has some specs of the SC14 and SC12.

*Web Site Here*

I was doing a little more investigating and I have been told that not all of the SC14's have the clutch thing that allows you to turn it on or off.

*EDIT* And I just found some more info about these little suckers:

*Here*

Should be able to find an A15 in the papers they pop up every couple of weeks.

Also most engine importers/reconditioners would have one or be able to order one in for you

I'm taking it that you are in Australia seeing as you talked about excels and commodores...

So if you check the classifieds on ozdat.com

*Here*

You should be able to find something in there. If not, it gets new classifieds every Wednesday night. So every Thursday morning you can see the new weeks ones.

With the being as fast as an L20 thing: I have raced my friend who has a 2litre 1600 (510) with twin webers and I was equal with him until I changed to fourth gear. he could hold 3rd longer and he also had a few speed so he won.
Although my friends 16 wasn't the best example. That gives you a small idea about comparing it to an L20.

Hope some of this made sense.

I reckon a little weber or holley woudl be the goods. Just like a 32/36 weber or a G180 Holley.
You'd need an adaptor (About $30 I think) and maybe some linkages. SHoudln't cost too much if you just wait for cheap parts to come by
