I wouldnt mind a 240Z with a RB26DETT, yeah old school look with potent turbo donk, RWD ofcourse. I think Datto drifter, I spose we have to leave out the DR30 Skyline. I just have this wacked idea of dumping a RB turbo in one of them, tuff as guts! Surely a six can fit in where the FJ went? Its that PJ racecar thats got me excited again! Im sure this has been done before, especially in the drift scene, anyone know of a site with pics of such a conversion?

Im with 1200RC, I choose to jump on the net (sometimes) after work instead of watching TV. There is so much crap on TV, atleast here you can learn and share knowledge on something you are interested in. Just think, I could be watching that movie Angel Eyes tonight, sure Jen Lopez is hot but...hang on...back in a sec

I think it depends on your style. I have seen blokes bog down cars/utes and not get on a burnout because they mash the brakes and dont have the feel, same car different style and wadda you know, it loves it! I havent driven a stock A14 but I could get my old stock A12 coupe onto a burnout by correctly applying brakes and throttle, starting on dirt or wet bitumen/concrete will help, mine used to tramp flat out on dry bitumen (not good)!

It might sound stupid but try your local tyre shop. I took in some 14" wheels for my Ford ute and said to the bloke: all I want is some tyres with tread that will do a burnout comp. 10mins later he fittted two tyres (second hand scrap) with great tread for about $30. Tyres went off, delaminated one (single spinner diff).

We do a similar event here, called The Festival of the Piston. Or The Festival. Happens on bathurst weekend. Last year we tried killing a Toyota Corolla, one of the boxy RWD ones. No one could get it to cook the tyres until I got behind the wheel. The trick...drop it in reverse. No ####, this thing smoked big time. Everyone had a go trying to be Tommi Makinen, it was great and no one gave two hoots about the car. Was good for a laugh and apparently it still goes, I think. Not bad for a couple of hundred bucks!
P.S. I won the burnout comp in the XB ute, looks great on video.

Dims, Im not a huge bike fan. However, I dislike Harleys, just not my style. If I had the money laying around I would love a Ducatti, red ofcourse. The give me a chubby when I hear them blat past in the street.

I adopted my old mans XC Ford ute. I think he bought all the parts to keep it going, first accessories I bought were JVC head unit (old school now days) and Clarion speakers. But first hard parts were 350cfm Holley (brand spankers) and Redline manifold to suit the 250 X-flow. Went like snot once the Holley opened up, drove like poo any other time. Ended up ditching the Holley for a Weber. Much better performance all round, never looked back, not a Holley fan anymore.

To get an idea of their music it is kinda like The Vines, The Strokes, Whitestripes etc. Got that raw sound, no computer ####, just hard riffs, big drums and punchy vocals!

You guys remember the thread a while back about the band "The Datsuns" from NZ? Well, I bought their self titled CD a while back and it rocks, would love to have a road going datto to play it in! You would end up driving like a maniac tho. If anyone is interested their website is: www.thedatsuns.com. New album is coming out (in stores now?). I saw a clip on Rage the other night, same hard rocking "classic?" Datsuns! Cheers, Simon

Phunk, you are so right. I had to have the window down in the XB (1974) because the demister didnt work and thats the only way you could stop fogging up, let a bit of water in tho. Come to think of it, I was driving home from work tonight (6pm) about minus 5 degrees with windchill but I still had the window down and the heater just going in the new ute. Why do car enthusiasts do that? Most normal(?) people dont, but we do?
