The pipe rolling will flare it much less. It will give some static wheel clearance, however to have it low with good full travel clearance you really need to panel beat them.

I did all mine myself. Took me a weekend for each guard. But the wheel has never hit & looks factory.

I'd try the pipe rolling first & if you aren't satisfied, panel beat them.

oh yeah, you may need to do the rears also if you have issues with the front. I was advised a minimum 1/2 inch clearance under all conditions, so about 1 1/2 inches static is necessary.

I just put up another pic in my photo album which is the closest & clearest shot that l have on the front guards.

I'm running 195/50/15's. So probably easier than 16's or 17's!!

I also cut the front guard section under the bumper "rounded" so that the wheel didn't hit.

Pole method works good, but more than likely will crack the paint - or you wont get enough clearance anyway.

I had the same (one finger) clearance and got some friends to lift that side of the car and then put the pole in. Just pushed the car backwards and forwards slowly till it flared enough.

Although, if you want to be super low, then you'll need to panel beat the guard anyway. Thats what l did before painting. Theres now tonnes of clearance.

PRO-240C, can you give me more info on this section of the ADR. I have a piece of the Vicroads modification guide, which is what is ruled on in victoria:

"The Ground Clearance of a vehicle measured from a horizontal road surface to any point on the underside of the vehicle except the tyres, wheels, wheel hubs and brake backing plates shall, with the vehicle in its loaded state as specified by the manufacturer, be not less than:

I have sparco's (did you see on sunday?) & like dattodevil said they give you heaps more room.

Really the race seats wouldn't be more than about 50mm thick at the back, and you can mount them much lower than the factory seats. This means you don't hit your head, and you have more legroom. One of the best purchases l made.

What l hate more than spending money is the amount of time spent.

Imagine if we all charged the "low" rate of $10 an hour. How much would we have all spent on our cars????

I know my car in the past 13 weeks doing body mods and painting l've spent around 500hrs.

Although the past 3 days driving have made it all worth it!!!!
