My rear uni joint threw one of the caps out on my trip from Sydney to Townsville, Happened 20Km south of Tenterfield, Shook the hell out of the ute and the dogs in the back pooed razor blades. luckely there was a parts shop who had a uni joint and I went to a welder and got him to tack the caps in. About a 3 hour detour. Apart from that very reliable.

Ok, going from whats been written you have fuel pressure in the rail and there is fuel getting into the cylinders (plugs are wet) We still dont know what condition the fuel is arriving into the combustion chamber (atomised or dribble). The only way to find out is to pull the injectors and get em tested. But befor you do that are you actually getting SPARK. Could be possible that your ignighter modual (square box bit bigger that a pack of cards with alloy fins on it) is buggered. Also check EVERY wiring plug, connector and EARTH. Give em all a bloody good clean and make sure they go back together firmly. Good luck dude

Sorry but I dont have any pics yet as I am still trying to find a R31 fuel tank up here. But going on what Kev Rowley told me its a rather easie fit, Fabricate the necessary brackets, attach them to the rails up where the spare wheel hanger use to be, then secure the tank into place. Kev also sells the extended fuel filler neck so you can fill from the origional point. If you are really keen he can do rigid fuel lines as well.

Hmmmm, decisions. I am pretty handy with a mig so if I cant source a cheapish set of extractors for my ca into 1200 ute conversion I may just buy a flange and a bunch of bends and fabricate my own. I am also looking at front wheel drive CA's with extractors, may be easier to cut and shut a set of them. Or even get one of those cheap low mount turbo manifolds of Ebay and modify them. Either way its more time and money, I will just stick with stock manifold for now. Or how about I just consintrate on getting the donk fitted first.

I would go the CA because of its size, weight, look and its ease to pass engineering. There are plenty of kits out there to fit the donk into just about any car at reasonable prices, With forged pistons and good rods it will be an exrteamly reliable motor and they also have a very easily tuned factory computer so that can save you a few bucks. This motor basically gave birth to the RB series donks you see in all the R32, 33 ,34 skylines out there so it has a pretty good start to life. One of the down sides it that there is allot more after market gear for the SR20's but thats only one small hurdle to jump over. This is just my opion so you can take it any way but I hope this info helps you.

Anyone out there running a CA18DE (non turbo) with extractors. If so what brand extractors are you using and what price where they. Any fitting problems squeezing them into a 1200 ute. Where abouts did you get em from. Any info would be great please.
