Sounds like your injectors are dribbleing which would mostlikely be caused by the Pressure Regulator. Fuel is at a high pressure in the rail and when the injector opens fuel is forced into the intake as a very fine mist (atomised). If your pressure is low then instead of the fine mist you get a sloppy dribble which is very hard to ignight, that would explane the wet plugs. Try to block off the return line from the Regulator to build up pressure in the rail. From here you can determine if the reg is cactus or your fuel pump cannot supply enough pressure. There is also the possibility that the injectors needle and seats are worn causing fuel to conatantly flow into the intake. Hope this helps, Let me know how it turns out.

I am planing to run a Fuel tank from a R31 skyline, Little bit of fabrication and some new larger fuel line and wallah. The surge tank is inside the fuel tank and I also increase my fuel capacity to 65L. I dont think there is any problem with having everything in the tray of the ute except for the fact that it will be easy for someone to knockoff. As for your your fuel line set up go to a few of the web sites that deal with EFI and electric fuel pumps and check out the Diagrams they have.

This is the exact same conversion I am currently doing, CA into 1200 ute. Depending on where you are is who you should speak to about your what to buy list. There is a bloke called Kev Rowley (located 30 minutes west of Brisbane) who is DA MAN IN THE KNOW about putting a CA into a 1200. He has given me a list of what I need right down to part numbers and he sells the necrssary crossmembers and all the other bits you can think of for the conversion. If you want to speak to him let me know and I will PM you his details. He is a very friendly bloke and has a wealth of Knowledge and info on datto conversions.
