ITEM: I am after a stock oil filter landing of a CA18DE. My current one is the type that has the oil cooler built into it and I dont want that set up as I am running a remote filter and cooler core. I got one but I can't really help you out with it until for a couple of weeks as I am kinda busie. The engine is located at Pine Mountain which is just outside Ipswich.

They make these kits to suit common filter threads, the CA18DET runs a ryco Z145A from memory which has a very common 3/4-16 thread. Down the page it says that the kit comes with that type of thread so yes this kit will fit. Bear in mind your also gunna have to buy some -10AN hose and 4x -10AN female hose ends as well. If you wanna incorporate an oil cooler then add that the cost plus another 2 fittings and maybe a little more hose.

Without the car running check the travel of the throttle. What you are looking for is to make sure that at WOT its not going over centre. So closed the butterfly should be flush with the housing and at WOT the butterfly should be at 90 degrees to the housing, nice and flat say if it goes over 90 degrees to like 95 degrees or more is going "Over centre" and this can cause it to stick and make it difficult for the return spring to pull the butterfly back from going "over centre". From memory GRA throttle bodies have a throttle stop so this may need adjusting but I am unsure, its been I while since I last played with one

One more is to feel how smooth the throttle action is cause maybe the roller bearings on the throttle shaft are worn and are sticking

The style of dash I am after is the street style - ie no data logging, GPS, etc so it should be much cheaper, one quick look and I found the Haltech dash for $950. Pretty dam good price.

Gday, I am doing a little number crunching and it may be cheaper to buy a Haltech (or another brand depending on what ecu I choose) style dash than to buy all the gauges that would make up my dash (speedo, tacho, oil, fuel temp etc). So I am wandering if running one of these style gause clusters has any legel issues. Both say they for "street" use but thats open to interpritation.

Both retail for around the 1000buck range but I can almost spend that on a full set of quality gauges.

White/Purple - Positive for fuel pump
2 blacks - Common together & earth
