i know im asking heaps for nothing but to some people this may be a good option. im after buying g/boxes and diff centres that fit 1000/1200's. ive seen in the past people selling 4 speed boxes and diffs for around $20-$40 each. if anybody especially in adelaide has any of theese for sale at that price (working) i will be very interested.
email me at mlowe@kci-medical.com

i had a similar problem. my a12 in my 1000 ute blew a head gasket cause it would leak water into the cylinder and when it spat it all out it would run better. i also had a vibration but that went away when i fixed it.

BUT...
for a really bad story that u should not follow read on.

i got of my ass 1 day to change a head gasket on me a12 which had been over heating in 40 degree heat (c) for a couple of months. when i ripped of the head i found tha gasket was stuffed (alot stuffed) so i got out me wet n dry cleaned the face of the head with it and the block, replaced the head gasket $13 and inlet gasket $5 and used the original rocker gasket wacked the head back on without adjusting the rocker arms or torquing the head (just used my ratchet) and i swear its never run better. ps: dont try this at home ITS DODGY

im thinking of swapping my s1 RX-7 GT Savanna for a nice datsun 1200 ute. my rx7's had about $8-10k spent on it in the last 18 months it has a 12A extended bridgy (done 3000k's) nice metallic apple red with blue purl paint job and s3 seats n door trims. the only thing that dissapoints the rx is that it runs a twin points dizzy and a stock exhaust which makes it not wana go past 8k but atleast ive never cained it. however i do have a spare g/box and electric dizzy for it.

im after a nice body'd datto 1200 ute, motor condition doesnt really bother me. im in adelaide's nthn suberbs
