i've been really thinking about the idea of converting my 1200 to a tray back, i'm thinking a really nice polish wood deck on top of a polished alloy tray, sitting flush with the back of the cab. has anyone ever done/seen this before? i'm interested to know if it'd be as easy has cutting off the quarter panels, removing the tray from the chassis and welding it all up and then bolting on the new tray? would this be legal also?

come on some one on heres gotta want a nice 1200 to do up, i don't wanna see it go to some swanger who'll kill it. It's got disc break upgrade + 120y break booster, series 2 bluebird diff, new torneau, tinted windows, 2 inch exhaust, jelly bean style wheels, re-upholsted seats, new carpets, engine is stock with new filters and i service it (oil/filters and do the timing) every 5000k's.
