one other thing is that never did we require any changing of the needle and seat for boosting our setups!
Only things were float was changed to solid plastic if it wasn't already!
Secondaries jet was drilled to the size off a 3 litre commodore jet and for hi boost the carbies needed to be sealed better!

Can you find out and let us know what was used on the KB laser turbos ( factory)
regarding fuel pumps and pressure as this is a major factor! ( limiting the amount of boost able to be applied to the system before leaning out!)

As for being simple to change back! Maybe
But what makes you think any other setup would be any different? If you have an exhaust pipe adapter there is no difference!
maybe my setup is even quicker to change back! ( but really why would you want to?)
My carbie is in the right place to start with! so it is only the turbo you need to take off!
and put an aircleaner instead of the intercooler pipes!
The carbie is set up to run good at no boost or with boost! Nothing needs to be done here!
And If all you are after is a car that runs no boost in the week! just disonnect the wastegate actuator and this is what you will have! Nothing else is required!

But in the end to each his own!
Think about it and tell me now if 45 mins is better then 5 mins!
You too could just disconnect the actuator but then you still have to suck the fuel through the turbo all the way to the manifold!

I think it is me you are refering too!
Firstly I said Non turbo KB laser carbies are the same as 1200 and so on ( just a later version " Hitachi" )
Never seen a factory Turbo KB laser but asuming they have the same carbie this will have relivence!
( I do know of a non turbo kb laser which was turbo charged but because of the boost pressures it ran it to needed the carbie to be modified for boost!)
We found near or over 15psi boost for either laser or datsun carbies required them to be modified for boost!

Also this turboed lazer had a datsun carbie throtle plate ( the throttle body of the carbie!) fitted to it as lasers only had vacuum secondaries!( maybe some lasers do have mechanical secondaries! but I am not sure!)

Anyway I fitted a kb laser carbie to a N/A 1200 as the datsun carbie was Rooted and the KB is all we had around at the time!

I will post a pic today of the mods required to fit it to the datsun manifold!
I will put it under " forum" "Carbie base Plate"

Mate that 1000 wagons not much good anymore! Didn't you see all they do is pile all the other sh@t in it now!

The 1000 has been there for ages I got a good tail light lamp off it! ( Suprisingly it was the side that I needed as one of mine had a few minor imperfections)
I can't belive how long they keep sh@t there for even if it has nothing on it!
I got the lens over 1 1/2 yrs ago now!
I keep telling Mick there to try and get some different ones, but I supose it is what is around at the time!

If turbo 400's are what you are used to messing with I now understand why you maybe think we were joking about about lifting everything out!

You do sound like you are dreading it but trust me it's just an A12!

Just to add my extra 2 cents!
A map sensor doesn't get affected by this!
And yes air flow sensor will not read the air if it is released to atmosphere but all it will do is cause the engine to run rich for a few seconds after each gear change!
