Agreed. Hillbilly show in a hillbilly town. I havent been in about 4 or 5 years now, maybe its changed.
Its still ok for a one day visit, but anything longer and you must enjoy portaloos, camping and going to bed at 9pm. The local pub is full of hillbillys. Bring your own food to last your stay. The only eating out in town is a chinese resturant. Even mention fast food and a local will look at you like you're a city slicker.

Just cut the old mounts off and sit the engine and box in place. Then measure. That way you know its where you want it.

Cheers for the input guys.
I cant really say I want to build a sleeper.
I dont think I would waste time on the body and paint if thats what I was after.
Im more for building a 1200 that makes me smile and make others say go the datto.
Nothing better than when an old fella stops you in the shopping centre carpark and tells you about his old datto.

Buddy is bowing down to the datsun.
Either that or he is contemplating ramming it.

Final colour will be one of these 2.
Right now im leaning towards the dark brown but I will lighten it a bit and add flattener so its a satin finish.
Or if I choose the pale ochre it will be gloss.

Rob that sticker cost me a bloody fortune
The spot welder is a guillotine.

Brent the cream is high fill primer, the black is etch primer.

I gave it a good coating of high fill today.
I still have to mess with the lines on the left guard. Thats what you get with dodgy taiwanese guards. Cant complain though, it is a guard and the basic shape of a 1200 guard.

RIP to this young fella.
Accidents happen.
Accidents ALWAYS suck.
I agree completely, but this thread isn't about an "accident" it's about an act of criminal stupidity with a fatal outcome. An accident is by definition a a happenstance, an unavoidable event.
Not quite the same thing.

Criminal act or not, an accident is an accident.
Get off your high horse.
I dont believe this thread was created to continue stoneing someone who has payed an ultimate price.
Pay respect simply for this fellas passing, or keep your trap shut.
