Sorry to bother again, I just changed my head and head gasket on my datsun. The alternator belt is tight, no thermostat, water pump not leaking, the water has a good flow when you accelerate the car and it reaches 3/4 of temp. when only driving around 10 minutes. Do you think my water pump should be changed ? It's about 3 years old.

Yep, 1 hole is all it took. Actually it has a better lubrication than before. Like you said, the oil now shoots straight up the 45 angle hole than 2 holes. Cheers. :)

I noticed on both pics. I took off the head, marked it with the old head gasket, and drilled it on a 45 angle. I then put it all back together and now it's lubricating. Thank you all with your help on this.

I did noticed that my A13 block has that little hole sealed like the A14 and A15. Does this mean that the lubrication of these engines going threw the head is different than A12 ?

Does this mean that an A12 can't use any other heads except the one it comes with ?

Can someone tell me what might be wrong ? My car blew the rear head seal and all the water came out so it over heated. I have a A13 head that was cleaned, new valve seals and ready to be put on. I swapped the A12 head for the A13 head and used a A13 head gasket. I left the A12 intake and exhaust manifold. I did change the studs around so the intake could fit. I calibrated the valves and started the car. No problem, car running smooth with no smoke and charging because that what started it all,alt froze and broke the belt. Well anyway, the car is charging and running smooth, then it started tapping after awhile. I turned it off and recalibrated the engine while hot. I noticed that it was dry. I turned it back on without the valve cover and bang...NO LUBRICATION... oil is full and added some washers to the oil pump spring for more lubrication. Didn't work. My oil light turns off when started but no lubrication on top. I also took off the valve rocker arm shaft and it's all nice and clean. The correct bolt is in where the lubrication goes up !!! What can it be ? Please help. I'm getting frustrated with my car.Don't want to swap engines yet until this one is running :(

Yea mate, She already knows she's # 4 on my list. 1st my 2 daughters, My datto and then her :) . It's funny though, I couldn't find the 12" whitewalls no where. So I went and bought these tires from ebay with the mold already on them but in black. Then ordered this whitewall paint to have them painted on. The car looked liked it just came out of the dealer. Until driving back and all the smoke coming out of it jajajaja. A cop asked me if I needed any help, I told him that the car broke down he smiled and said " @ least it looks pretty " :0

After 3 months of prepping my car for this past Saturday car show in New Jersey. My alternator goes bad 10 minutes away from getting there, not only that, then the car starts heating up...Had to turn around and drive the car for an hour till it died at the corner of my house. Head gasket, water pump and alternator...Done. My wife tells me to sell the car...jajaja... I love that car to much to let it go. Now the engine is coming out and my racing A13 engine is going in. F#$k originality...Tired of people telling me " Don't mess with the car, leave it all original how it is " Now it's racing time :)

I'm in Delaware ( USA ). I searched around here and states close by. No one does that type of job around here. I was thinking going 13" rims, but I want to keep it as original as possible.
