good work, thanks for that mate. Sounds from that thread that the hitachi's would suit my engine better for what i want (mild performance on street, cam, extractors, exhaust and elec ignition main mods). Are parts/rebuild kits real hard to get

just wanting some opinions on pro's and cons of the above carbs. I've found a set of gx carbs on an oval port manifold with linkages which should fit my a15 nicely, are rebuild kits still available if needed in the future?? how smoothly do they run in comparison with webers/dellorto's?? have had a look in the wiki but would like to hear people's opinions who have tried them (these hitachi's are even more rare in NZ than Aussie!!) cheers

yeah i'm a firey. unfortunately it probably wouldnt matter if he was going 30 or 300km an hour, a sideway's hit like that is not good for your brain, thats why there's a big push for side curtain airbags. I think my 1200 must have missed that section of the assembly line because they missed out on those unfortunately. What i was getting at was bystanders and the press more specifically often get the facts completely wrong so dont take the report as gospel (never let the truh get in the way of a good story??) obviously the poor young bloke's made a few bad choices and its gone from bad to worse. Nobody actually knows what happened apart from the occupants of the car so maybe lay off the bagging a bit. Nobodies perfect. oh and 1000coupe, i wasn't trying to get at anyone specifically, just the general tone of the thread

geez aren't you guys a great lot. He may have done a stupid thing by driving his car unregistered, but the speed he was doing and what happened is all speculation. The cops would have got there information from people who heard it and asked how fast they thought it was going, and people, even though they have the best of intentions usually suck at this. We got called to a motor vehicle accident yesterday, persons trapped inside, when we turned up it was a nose to tail at about 10km/hour and nobody was touched. People who called it in got a bit carried away. Old people cause a lot of trouble on the road too, so to bag him for being young and now your family is safer is just #### in my opinion. I vote shut this thread down, its not constructive

i thought it must be something like that, because i've interchanged a12 and a15 starters as well, just never taken any notice of the number of teeth before. I must have been really bored!!!

was having a look at a few a series starters today and noticed that some had 8 teeth and some had 9. I thought all starters were interchangable, so does different ring gear/flywheel size on a12-a15 overcome the extra tooth?? i've never taken any notice of this before, would hate to munch my flywheel!!
