cool, thats a helpful start. If i swap over the top of the 1200 strut, is it still necessery to drill out the holes in the top?? for the extra amount of parts i'll need, is the braking power that much greater than 120y/coupe struts??

I know this has been done before and have searched forum, but threads i have found dont answer my questions so bare with me. Want to put B310 sunny struts on my 1200 ute. What is the parts list i need for this-struts obviously, lca's etc?? and do i swap over the 1200 strut top, springs and shocks or does the whole sunny strut bolt up?? i've read holes in top of strut tower need to be drilled out, is there anyway of avoiding this??
Just want the biggest bang for my limited buck, or would a 120y upgrade just be a better and simpler option (i've read this isn't much better than standard drums though). Thanks

I've found a 5 speed gearbox for sale, has to be shipped to me so cant see in person. Has been behind a datsun 1200 engine, but in a daihatsu 4wd project that was abandoned before it was finished. My question...finally is there's a 56 on the side of it apparently, but they're in seperate circles. No mention of any other numbers or letters. Anyone seen this before on a 56 box?? thanks

just wanting opinions on a brake upgrade for 1200 ute with drums on the front. I've heard 120y struts bolt stright in, and that struts off 310 sunny's also fit?? Do both just bolt in or is some modifying needed?? what other parts along with master cylinder and front brake lines are needed?? And whats the deal with wear on old struts etc, do these get worn out/stressed over time, or if the calipers, pads, bushes etc are done are they as good as new??

Just scored this yesterday, it was in a 1200 ute that was stripped for parts. Anybody know if its origonally out of a 1200?? I haven't seen one like it before. Would also like to know what it might be worth??http://www.datsun.co.nz/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=2905
