Post a picture with it all assembled! I want to see how it all fits together. I don't understand how the carbies sit there. Also, what did you start with when you made the exhaust manifold? That looks nice? How hard was it to weld it up?
That's just TOOO COOOOL!

Yes, the video did seem impressive but I was looking for something that they were doing to make it look more glamorous. I've never used POR15 so I didn't know about their topcoat. Anyway, I think I'm going to give it a try here in a couple of weeks. I'll let you guys know how it turns out. In the mean time, Here's the only other website I've found that show someone applying it. Interesting!

Has anyone ever used Rust Bullet to stop rust. I've got some rust on my coupe and am thinking of coating the whole under carriage.
Here's the web site.

OK, I'm building my 1200 now and want to go to some meets. Where are some meets in the US? Mainly around the southwest but anywhere from the midwest to the west. Also, why is there so many in the northwest?

Can you get the filters from a standard auto parts store or do you think it has to come from a radiator shop? I'm for sure going to use one. You can never have too much protection!
Considering that I live in AZ, I'm installing AC, and eventually want to put in an A15, I want to install the biggest radiator I can fit in there.
Thanks everyone for the info.

OH, and Curtis, since I live in one of the hotest cities in the US, I would say the more radiator the better to beat the heat, but then again... it is a dry heat!!!

Cheezcloth as a filter??? I never thought of that! Do you think that it might rip or come apart and plug up a cooling jackets or radiator tubes? What about some type of metal screen? I'm assuming you're putting this over the inlet side of the radiator, correct? You know, it makes me wonder why no-one has ever produced a coolant filter before. Thanks for the idea!

Makes sense. Thanks for the info. I'm going to be putting in AC in my 73 coupe. Would you or anyone else know what type of car I can get a bigger radiator from that would be a descent fit for my 1200?

Never actually overheated but dang near did all the time. With the cylinder walls being thinner, wouldn't that allow more heat to transfer to the water jackets creating and overheating condition?

Over 20 years ago I had a 71 sedan with a 4spd. My brother-in-law worked at a Datsun dealer and owned the car before me. He drove it for a long time when I bought it. He had replaced the rings and done a valve job on it in the past. He told me that If I ever rebuild the engine don't bore it out at all. Just hone the cylinders and put new rings in it because the thinner cylinder walls will cause it to overheat. Being a young kid I did exactly what he said not to do. I had it bored 30 thousandths and put new pistons in and had the head totally redone. Wouldn't you know it? It constantly overheated. My question is... was that typical for a 1200 engine that's been bored? What about the A14 and A15 engines? Did I totally screw up that engine? I sold it not too long after the engine was rebuilt so I don't know how long it ran.
I was wondering so I thought I'd go to the professionals.
What about it guys?

Thanks
