I've broken something, but don't know what yet. Two weeks ago, I went over a speed bump (sleeping policeman, or whatever you call them down there). It was a nasty one, and was going way too fast. Now, loud graunching from the left front when you turn the wheel, and over 100 clicks is impossible, wheel starts hammering up and down. Seeing as how some PO cut the front springs down, and could have even taken out the bump stops, what do you reckon is the damage from bottoming out? (will start teardown tomorrow)

For those in the know: What offset is needed to fit 15" wheels/tires to my coupe? I've got 14"s, but I don't like the style, and the offset is wrong (they rub occasionally with 185/60s). What is the offset of the TRX wheel? I'd kill for a set, but AFAIK they were never fitted to anything here. If someone were willing, I'd buy a set and have them shipped one at a time when finances allowed.

I think Gary was telling me about the mod he did to his drag link to increase castor (the yellow car was closer). He shortened it about about .5 inch.

Unfortunately for us Yanks, we have little alternative. We only got the RWD CA18ET, not the RWD CA18de or DET, which is why there are some running around here with the 4AGE, which is much more readily (read cheaply) available, ditto a 5-speed RWD 'box for it. It's the same reason it is usually mated with the Corolla rear axle, as we don't have Utes to pirate for the H165. I just saw a CA18DET on Ebay US c/w 5-speed, wiring, turbo, ECU, sensors, MAF, and intercooler. How much? A paltry $1860 AUS (1400 USD), and for me on the west coast, another $400 AUS for shipping. You work out the total. How does it stack up with what y'all would have to splash out? The swap I'm considering would be nearly impossible to certify there (still can't work out why it's anyone else's business what's under the bonnet).
