There is oil in the gear case at the end, there is usually a screw in dipstick to check fill level.

Rather than bending the strut tube the old tube can be machined out and the old stub can be angle milled to suit a larger tube.
This would give more camber and alow for a larger diameter strut insert.

And as Benny mentioned, with wide rims clearance could become an issue.

Always run a thermostat or a restrictor to provide block pressure, performance engines usually run between 25 and 30 psi block presure. without a restrictor you will be relying on the rad cap to provide the pressure and its not enough!

BTW. engine coolant actually makes the engine run hotter as it doesnt transfer the heat as quick as plain water, or even better run "water wetter".
I always just run corrosion inhibitor for corrosion protection without the ethelene glycol.

You wouldnt need a cam change, but it would help you get the most from the upgraded intake.

There is a factory fitted efi unit that is rare and lots of money ($500+).

Next option is to buy a weber manifold then buy throttle bodys to suit ($1200+)

Make your own (from min. of $250)

Now for the sales pitch!!

Get someone to make one for you.(like me) Single throttle plate and plenum option $600.
or Quad throttle $900.
Both of these last options i could make and would supply with injectors and fuel rail fitted the runners would have bell mouthed entries and length would be made to suit your application.

Some ideas anyway

You will need a 4 cyl gas injector block. The gas converters used for most of the injected setups output gas at 15psi, you would have to have this manifold referanced so the presure always remains 15psi higher than map.
I had trouble getting the components years ago and had to make my own converter but it all should be available now.

I used a M4 motec but any of the aftermarket ecu`s should be ok. haltec do one especialy for gas aparently.
Ive had no experience with modding factory ecu`s but i dont like your chances.

Laney, what components have you chosen?
R you going to use gas vapour injectors or liquid?

1400+ Hp was posible from 1.5lts in 1988.

300+ shouldnt be too hard in 08, Its all about keeping all the temps in check.

Well done i say.
Really should be in a race car tho.

They do look good, Ok for the street but crack through the holes radialy in high temp competition use, the slotted ones are OK tho.
this is unless DBA have improved them recently.
