Okay so i finally got a Datsun again!!!
Its a 1974 120y only one owner all original 3spd auto!!!
runs perfectly drove it from ipswich today and sat on about 90k/hr the whole way, never skipped a beat.
I intend to do her up over about 2 years coz i have no money
have a guess how much i paid for her...
$350!!!! i was so excited!
i plan for maybe sr20det or ca18det but prob sr!Gotto convert her to manual tho...

ebay panels are the worst lol, i got a front left guard and i had to elongate, massage and chop! took me about two hours to FIT!

it sounds like your alternator isn't charging your battery,
either your battery has dropped a cell and won't hold charge, or your alternator isn't working properly, once you've started the car the alternator should be charging the battery, if it isn't then it will cause the battery to flatten almost instantly. Change you battery and then see how you go.

ouch, i'm putting my money on too much compression...
I'm building a supercharged mx5 at the moment for a friend, it has the turbo 1.8ltr out of the BPT 4wd mazda, but i'm still dropping the compression just to be safe.
I would get the head sleeved, probably the only way you'll be able to get rid of the gouges. They look a little too deep.

i had a worked a15 with a a12 4 spd, i went through 2 of them but one was driver error and the other was pure power lol They worked very well for me, the ratios are great, i only felt i needed five gears when i was on the highway.

They are easy to get and pretty cheap as previously stated, and i think they're underrated too!
