Ive had those sorta breathers on my v8's for years, never had a problem with the fuz. but it is a valid point, the rules say they are a no-no

Yeah tru about the spark plugs, Im one of those ppl that would put the engine in and if it showed signs of needing reinforcing then I'd go about making it so, dont tend to worry about things too much untill they are a problem I liked the idea of a datto also because of the price of a shell, a lotus 7 rep is going to cost a fair bit more to get started with.

Well Ive been told this and that so many times I am honestly a little lost, a 240z also sounds like a candidate, heck I've heard of a bloke putting a 351c into a KE laser!
Like I said my criteria is more or less weight and effort to complete, registration is not something im going to worry about, not wanting to throw insane amounts of money at it.

DOH!
I'll give that dude a ring after I move house this weekend, got enough on the plate atm, lol. But its starting to sound more and more like a plan of action. Gonna be heaps of fun and would be nice to see the old girly pushing something other than an old XE falcon around the place.
Are there any canberra locals that have attempeted a v8 into a 120Y before? would love to meet up have a beer and a good chinwag about the best way forward.

yeah I was actually trawling the forums here looking for anything v8 and came across that pic along with these threads: 302 into 120010 seconds for 10 granddo ppl actually put v8's in 1200's? Some interesting reading among them. From what I've read the 120Y is my choice at the moment. just have to find one local and do some measuring! anyone from canberra wanna meet up so I can take some measurements?

Hi guys, first post, I just came across your site while looking for info on engine transplants.
I've been in the car circuit for a little while now, mainly fords and the like. I live in Canberra *cold shiver down spine*, yeah yeah I know, lol.
As I said Ive been looking for information on engine tranplants and a number of ppl have pointed me a the old datto as a cantidate for my 450+hp v8 that needs a new home.
I gave the search here a try but couldnt come up with a winner. Have you guys come across many ppl trying to fit a 351 celvo into a datto? Any information on here that might be of use to a bloke like me? Oh yeah this is just for a demo car, getting it engineered or road legal is not a consideration at the moment.
Im really keen to fit this engine into something in the next say year or so, but its all going to come down the the weight of the candidate car and the hurt in doing it.
