Add some methanol to that and it more than possible...

And I quote a piece from the current issue of Speed 'n Sound, which is a ZA performance mag;
Quote:
We actually featured the car a while back, but it's improved it's performance in leaps and bounds and has secured a following of fans at every track it races at. It's the bright orange Emotion Opel Corsa owned by Boeta Kotze. Recent changes include methanol fuel and drag slicks, which have resulted in one of SA's fastest quarter mile times for a normally aspirated front wheel drive car - 11.9-seconds!

The whole article...

Now that's in a FWD car, crazy stuff...

Will this be in conjunction with the normal Illegal 2 Legal event that normally takes place on the last Friday of the month?

I wish my datto was done, maybe I'll just do it in the toaster(a.k.a. Hyundai)...

Sounds good. What is the sound at the end? Is it the tires breaking traction on the dyno rollers?

That's why I thought he didn't have a BOV. It sounds like when you let go of the throttle without a BOV, then it creates that 'bouncing' sound effect as the boost pressure tries to escape backwards through the turbo compressor wheel. Even though it's harmful to the turbo, I still think it sounds better than a BOV... It harks back to the days when the Audi Quatro's dominated WRC...*whooooshchiechiechie...*

Also what is their motivation for not allowing atmo BOV's? Unless the turbo is buggered, it can only vent oxygen...

Sounds healthy... up to here...

Do you have a dump/blowoff valve on there? It doesn't sound like it...

Checked out your webpage, one of the pictures of particular interest, was the one on the Stanza caster arms. The standard bakkie caster arms on the front suspension I bought, looks exactly like the ones from the Stanza in your pictures. Now the stupid question, what difference do they make?

Also some of the solvents that are used to clean engine blocks turn white when they come in contact with water. It maybe as simple as taht they didn't rinse the block properly. However, the back to front headgasket sound likely to...

Rinse the engine properly using a garden hose, fill the system again, and check if it still turns milky, then explore the other options, it's the cheapest alternative...

Spark-plugs Speak volumes on the health of an engine

Mmmm, now I'll have to go dig out my old ones, I seem to remember that they had black carbon on them, and also some oil. Then again, the whole motor is full of oil, it was over filled with cleanish oil.

Am worried about 3 tiny pieces of aluminium I found in the sump. They weren't the usual fine fillings(which there were none of) from when you have a bearing failure, but rather looked like little pieces of casting, from when the mold doesn't seal properly, that broke of or came loose. I hope they are just that...

Also there is a lot of black carbon in the inlet ports...

Going to do a compression test, and then start it without the turbo on, to see of there are any noises inside or not. If it's buggered or loose stuff comes flying out, at least it won't break the turbo...

And i have to feed the pump water via a pipe

I'm unsure what you mean by this? Does this reffer to the thinner pipe exiting from the top outlet?

My turbo doesn't make use of water cooling.

Computer not installed yet, but it's very easy according to the wiring diagram. Have a look at Dicktator. Not sure if they'll post to OZ/NZ though.

Where in the world are you BTW.? I'm sure other people are also wondering...

I'm using an aftermarket ECU so I won't need those sensors. However, I'm sure they have some function for enrichment when starting up in the cold.

Also pay attention to the PM about the little pipe between the top outlet and the thermostat housing, it could save you an engine...
