Pretty quotes from the Wiki... All this axle talk has got me trampling... Here is a recent photo of my build, and I'm wondering if my 1200 GX has got a BW in it or not. It has the removable backplate, and has 8 bolts holding the backing plate on. I don't remember seeing any tags on it, but will have a look tonight. Any ideas on which one this might be? Keep in mind that I'm is South Africa. Going to keep it in there until it gives up anyway...

Damn that's expensive... Will do, will find out from Nissan and the aftermarket place I bought mine from. They make rubbers for various purposes and cars. Rubber I put in is good quality, by the looks of it, and they fit perfectly. Will check at home, ebay blocked from work, what is included in the kit on ebay, and fish for prices accordingly.

Did you bolt them straight onto the manifolds, or did you add the little rubber shock absorber rings in between, that could make the difference...

Quote: haha i know well looks like ill be paying $960 AU for mine! Beatz, if you want you could measure the length of the rubbers needed for the doors and stuff, the window one should be standard, and maybe the one from the boot. If you could send me the lengths/quantities, I could get a quote for you on buying and mailing them over there, as the seals don't take up that much space. Sure I'll be able to buy and send it over there for less than $960 AU... I've sent WhiteSedan some badges, and they arrived without a hitch in about 7 days. I could do that if you are interested. It might be because the 1400 UTE's are still being built and sold over here hat the rubbers are so inexpensive...

Phew, now I don't feel so bad about paying 585 ZAR(104 AUD) for mine. That's excluding the rear window though, which couldn't be so expensive to make up the rest...

The rubbers are al the same as the UTE's, if that's of any help. I went through the same thing when I painted my car. Only two rubbers I couldn't find was the boot seal, and the rear window rubber.
Mine is a sedan though, but the boot seal was taken care of with a Merc boot seal, which almost fits as if made for the 1200, but am still searching for the rear window rubber.
Any suggestions of substitutes for this would be appreciated. Even if it has to be cut and glued...

Quote: The sidedraught was great and sounded even better . It was a 45mm DCOE so a 44 should be ok. When I'm done building my current car, I'll drive it for a bit, to enjoy the fruits of my labour. But if someone offers my the right price I'll sell it, and am thinking of putting down whatever I make from it down as a deposit on a brand new 1400 UTE. For that I'd like to do something similar with a turbo and sidedraught, so I might be pulsing you for some info in the future on jetting and stuff...

Quote: Kululadotgroen, Personal Photo Albums have been around a lot longer than recent incidents - in fact since the dawn of 1200.com - check the date on the frst post! Plus, they are NOT for personal 'unrelated' pics.
They are for you to put your personal Datsun photos in. If someone wants to see the progress on my 1000, they just navigate to my folder in the Photo Album and browse isntead of searching for a photo of mine and then clicking "more photo's from tnpshow"...
That I'm fully aware of, but this whole issue arose around the fact that unrelated non-Datsun pics were being posted in the general albums/areas, and they then suggested that personnal albums be created/used for this. This happened in another separate thread. If my memory serves me correct, member RB28 gave rise to this... So yes they are supposed to be used for your personal Datsun photos, but because of said issue with unrelated pics, they have been suggested for unrelated personal pics, so as to not clog the general albums/areas with unrelated stuff. See, we are both wrong and right at the same time...

Having had a look at your pics, here follows my not so pro opinion. That looks like a pretty kak oil pump...kak means sh!t, but worse... No seriously, the last pic shows some rust on the mating surface, and it might be that some of this got into the pump. The shaft might also be rusted where it goes through the housing, which is causing the tough turning. Maybe this pump simply didn't get enough lube/wax when it was assembled, and rusted while in transit or on the shelf???
