I had a clean up in my workshop the other week and discovered I have cornered the market in coupe rear side windows, I have 10 of each side !!! As for rare stuff that would be telling but I have got 7 A12s,1 A14 and 1 A15, 4, 4 speeds,3 5 speeds and a 63A as well. I took 8 coupe doors and 2 sets of ute doors to the tip recently, they were all stuffed and taking up far to much room. I now have to rationalise the Falcon spare parts collection, 3 351s, 1 302, 1 C4, 1 FMX and 1 toploader, plus diffs, wheels etc etc.

When I wrote diff I mean't the whole rear end assembly. Your 120y NZ spec when new had a H145 rear axle assembly. It probably still does though it would pay to check. The later 1200 utes had larger and stronger H165 assemblies and now reasonably rare. The ute assembly will fit onto your leaf springs but you may have to modify the bottom u bolt plates/shock mounts. the easiest way to ID the diff you have is to look at how the diff centre is held in the housing, if it has nuts it's a 145 and if it has bolts it's a 165. As for the 150 spacer debate I thought that was settled ages back. Almost all the 150s I have measured required the 2 mm spacer ,but the 150 centre in my coupe has been manufactured to the 145 dimensions ???Unusual for Nissan to cock up but it worked out OK for me.

I remember reading a Japanese performance car magazine a couple of years back, doing the RB26 twin turbo into a 1200 coupe. It was primarily a drag weapon. I think it was Option magazine but I could be wrong...but it has definately been done.

I saw the Mythbusters show as well...but I have seen a speedway saloon car,a Camaro snap the front universal and then it's driveshaft dug into the dirt and pole vaulted the car over the fence and into the pits...It was 30 odd years ago and driveshaft loops were not compulsary then.

Have a look on Feral's site Datrats and in the LZ info is a great cutaway pic of the Stanza in works warpaint.

Looking at Corvette forums should answer your question, but since Datsun nutters are all fairly intelligent and knowledgable folk, I can guees the switching you talk about is the valet switch used to control power when loaning the car to your kids or getting it parked. The Lotus designed engine is not like a VTEC Honda as has already been written, all the cams are driven all the time. Power is cut controlling the injector pulses I think, though I could be wrong as it's been a while since I was in the Corvette forums Oh and Phunk your holiness can you please hurry up and infest my bosses arsehole with boils, as I have been asking nicely for some time now...thank you God...

The early pre 80' utes ran the 145 diffs and they were 4:1:1. Though a 145 won't handle 195 Hp. Look on Trademe at the moment and you'll find at least 3 165 roadstar ute diffs for sale. They almost bolt straight in and will handle the power you have if you are gentle.

If your'e keen that would be awesome...Under the rear window ,behind the door opening, down to the sill and around the taillight surround , basically the whole rear left side (passengers} guard.

Terry and the boys have been busy and fitted a new body to the car but the left hand quarter is a bit ugly..Can anyone point us in the right direction to find a good solid left quarter panel even from the belt line down. Or the guard lip even ???
