Anyone in the North Island got a 1200 coupe shell they'd like to see become Australasia's fastest 4 cylinder??? Rod and Terry need a new shell. They need only the roof and rear quarters to repair the car. The chassis and engine are fine. They don't want to chop up a good car so has anyone got a donor. PM me and I'll take your details.

For years I've just given the clutch face a skim in the lathe but clutch manufacturers state in there instructions that the face should be surface ground. The theory is that the swirled ground finish is less likely to slip compared to the regular turned surface. Also grinding is better if you have any hard spots in the face causing by rivets rubbing if the cluch plate has been badly worn at some stage.

I've had probs with the Holley pumps as well. Tim had a similar Mallory pump seize mid race too. Facet pumps do the business well, I have nver met anyone who has had any troubles with them.

Delrin is a great product, and is self lubricating. But I would hesitate to run this set up on a road car. There is no "give" and all shock loads are directed though the mounts. Its a great idea for a track car though.

It all looks great and I'm sorry I missed it. How was the racing and were there any "new" Datsuns racing.??

I think you could be right bout the badging. A few years back i was asked to look at a SSS 1200 Coupe for a potential buyer. It of course wasn't factory but a nice coupe fitted with the genuine bits. I have also seen a ute done like that. Often dealers did stuff like this to move stock.

Well your'e kinda correct...the 1200 SSS build numbers were around 800 units but the 120Y SSS was around 300. JDM GX5s were less than 400 so technically the GX5 is the rarest "1200" and as for a 310SSS that is a new one on me !!!!
