all batteries have their good and bad points.
you cant put a(conventional) lead acid battery inside because of the gases they put out.
they are good and cheap, and if you get a marine type, which can be cranked and slowly discharged, you do get the best of both worlds.
odessy and all other dry cell batteries, which can be mounted inside, are only good as cranking or high current output applications.their main benefit other than size is they can be re-charged very quickly,at least twice as fast as lead acid.
odessy batteries do work better on smaller engines.v8 engines with high compression, high locked out ignition timing and high-torque starters really kill odessy batteries.especially when they are running either a crappy low output alternator or none at all.
i run and would recommend a marine type mainly because they are cheap, reliable and you can get them anywhere.good luck finding an odessy battery when your alternator dies and you have a flat battery.you will be coming home on a tilt tray.

the car had a small write up in street machine a while ago,in urban warfare.
it is a big block he lifted from another car and he takes it to burnout comps, does a good skid.
however there isnt much datsun left.
its a full chassis car with a datsun 1200 wagon outer shell dropped on top.
very rough but very tough.
you guys were right about one thing though,
it is very bogan.
he recons it has a 200 litre fuel tank so he can out run the cops when he drives it on the street! ha!

hey mate they scrapped it because it wasnt cost effective, not because they want to be arseholes.
its business.
as for the rest of your rant,i got lost at the people who dont care about the people you do care about the people that care about the cars but dont care about the people who say stupid things about the people that dont care to post about weather or not they care about stupid acts that people care or dont care about.

fair dinkum, anything that hard to understand aint worth worrying about.

yeah spot on phunk.
nissan are a car company, just like any other and they have board members and shareholders to answer to if they arent making money.
keeping old crap in an expensive warehouse is a waste as far as they are concerned,so it was canned.
jesus, some people carry on like this bloke kidnapped, raped and killed one of their children.but really they were unvaluble cars that nobody cared about and no amount of whinging will make any difference.nobody will be held acountable, nothing will happen.
get over it
harden the #### up!

it still went 1.6 to sixty foot, but i was having a few problems holding it on the line to get the stall up.
it was leaving at about 2500rpm.
should be more like 4500rpm.
i hope on a good track it will run a nine,i am still running the carb out of the box,no jet changes yet and no changes to ignition timing.
on saturday it was pretty much black tracking most of the track, esp. the first third and last third of the track.
i plan to be at the tin tops in a few months so it will be a good track then, see how it goes.

nissan stopped caring about datsun along time ago,
they werent great cars then and they certainly dont care about some rusting wrecks in a warehouse.
i hate renult as much as the next bloke, but i wont buy there cars or nissans because they are euro pieces of crap.not because they crushed a few cars.
you all say they are worth money but how many of you would put up the money to buy one.
classic old cars in australia go for more than 100k.
and in america some mopar and chev stuff sells for 250k plus.
i may be wrong but would anybody actually pay that much for a datsun?
