Personal opinion..
Megasquirt is quite difficult. But the online manual and forum are VERY informative. And when you think of it, it can't be that different from other systems. You still have to input all the data about your setup. No matter what setup it is.
MS is very flexible about what sensors you use too. You can use many different types of ignition input and coolant sensors. I recommend using EDIS and GM type sensors.
You can pick up EDIS from ebay for about $150AU I think. You can use commodore v6 or v8 coolant and air sensors.

Also the one that I am currently using, I think the solenoid is stuffed. It just didnt start, like as if it didnt have power. The relay was clicking when the key turned, but nothing. Even when I hotwired it....nothing.
Push started it then stopped it. Then it started again!! Weird

yeh....the bindings are stuffed. one of the pieces of copper fell apart when I took it apart. It was also very dirty inside. It has had a bad life (well since I had it anyway). 1 min starts while trying to tune my SU's.
When can I come round to get one Mick?? Also how much??

Definitely sounds like an earth problem. The black wire that attaches to something metal. It completes the circuit for the rear lights.

yeh it does start. I am running Megasquirt II with EDIS. But I think it has trouble after start. cranking timing is 10. and after starting 25 at idle.
