Then I should store my coil in a lead box where it is safe...mwahahahahahahha.

actually it ran quite well at 27 at idle. and I have now backed it off to 14 at idle. runs very smooth now. lumpiness of cam is gone again....sigh.

The balancer is single piece solid steel. and yes I am using the plug lead as a pickup.

I think now its running right because if it was out by 10deg it wouldnt run well at 4deg.

I will use your way of tuning. my dads way is to advance till it pings then back off.

its now sitting at 35deg. max under load

they did it on mythbusters. hit a car with emp....then all that would work was the electric windows. it didnt kill the battery, someone drove the car through an emp field and it fried all electric circuits. except lecy motors.

fyi. I still got me carby and dizzy there for a back up. so for if that day comes I can still pushstart the old girl and get er goin again. cant put dizzy in modern car. no hole....until then I will enjoy my precise ignition and injection that isnt tuned properly because I dont have a dyno!!

Hey its an A14 engine. mild mystery cam, mild port inlet only. its at 40 deg at 4500rpm and above at full load.

EDIS is 10deg across all loads/revvs. but with megajolt attached it is programmable.

I have checked my wheel with a timing light. and its spot on with the display on the computer. when it says 27deg at idle it says 27 deg on the timing light. do I still need to check it with a stop??

Hey just leave the fuel delivery to us playstation generation. EFI can be tuned on the fly. Also my EDIS programmable ignition is FAR superior to any dizzy. You can program it to put any advance at any load at any revvs. Lets see a dizzy do that.

Ignition aside yes you can tune a carb to perform as well as EFI. But a well tuned sequential ignition will get far better economy than any carb. and can be programmed while driving to be in performance mode giving more power than economy.

My car is going in that direction. I want a switch that I can put the car into economy mode for daily and a switch to go into drag racing mode. you can only do that with EFI and electronic ignition.

Hey guys,
Is it ok to run in excess of 40 deg of timing after 4000rpm?? under full load that is. I cant get it to ping at high revvs. should I keep increasing until it pings and adjust fuel to suit or what?
at idle it runs 27deg.
2000rpm it runs 29deg. (full load)
3000rpm it runs 35deg. (full load)
4000rpm it runs 40deg. (full load)
5,6,7 increase by 1deg each 1000rpm

Cheers in advance....advance lol. (for any advice)
