Hey mate,

What sort of machining can you do? Is it cnc, lathe, mill, what materials and thickness? How can a design be sent to you?

Have you got pics of previous work and rough prices for one off items? I just want to get an idea of capabilities and costs.

Cheers.

I think that the diagrams you are after are these: I have circled the pipes and connection points.

I had the old man weld a push on fitting to the bottom of the inlet pipe. It isn't very clear but I circled it so you can see the approximate location.

It is actually an air line, the other end connects back to the inlet/intercooler pipe just before the throttle body.

Hidden/tray mounted tailgate hinges and cab mounted washer wiper motor

Ok guys,

I have started on the hidden / tray mounted tailgate hinges and mounting the washer wiper motor in the cab.

Tailgate Hinges: I don't like the how standard tailgate hinges are exposed and started working on a tidier solution years ago. Original I had tried some normal hinges mounted just a little further in but the tailgate would only open about 60 degrees. I doubt I'll ever use my tray but it just didn't look right that the tailgate didn't open properly. These one should have the tailgate open to level with the tray. I just need to look for some better clevis pins as I think it has just a little to much slope at the moment. The nuts and bolts in these pics are just to hold it together for the pics.

Washer wiper motor: This is the S13 motor that I had already fitted in the engine bay but i'm sure you could use the same process with the original datsun one. I used M6 threaded rod in the original mounting nuts - just into the cab instead of into the engine bay. It will need stand offs and a brace as the threaded rod has a fair bit of flex to it. I found that the original wiper arm still attaches but it may need about 15mm taken out of its length as I couldn't get the wiper motor to do a full revolution without binding. I'm also going to put a kink in it to push it back up a little higher.

I made up my water lines based on this thread on nico forum http://forums.nicoclub.com/how-to-make-turbo-lines-t254366.html but it still requires the right angle fitting you are struggling to install. I bought the oil feed separately and it fit pretty easily. It is fairly hard the fit the lines in place unless you have someone to help hold the turbo while you tighten that waterline under the 3rd and 4th cylinder.

CA's use 11mm injectors. ID is injector dynamics, I haven't seen anything concrete that the ID injector are exactly identical to the Bosch injectors. You'll need to order injector that are the correct length and impedance to suit the CA unless you are going with a custom fuel rail and aftermarket ecu. Here is injector dynamics website http://www.injectordynamics.com/

Nice find shoota. Good luck with adding in the mod cons, lets us know what you go with and how they work out. I'm doing some similar stuff but normally don't mention it here because of the types of replys above.

I looked on the autotecnia website and it say that the 1000, 1200 and 120y are the same. http://www.autotecnica.com.au/boss_kit_nissan.html
That info doesn't match exactly with the info no the grant application list. Maybe ddgonzal knows.
