I've just bought a 200b that I will be parting out. I havent seen it yet but I'm told it has a 32 36 weber and I'm wondering what would be a fair price to sell it for. It comes with air cleaner and adapter to an L series.
I value your comments or suggestions.

Now I'm really concerned about melting something. Believe me if it can go wrong , then it WILL go wrong for me ! The 120y lights are 5 and a quarter or 5 and three quarters or something. It's got an L series motor so I don't know what difference that makes.

I've got a pair of stanza struts. I was going to e bay them this weekend. Make me an offer if that solves your problem

Depends on why you want to lock it.
As I understand it one reason to lock it is so that when you put power down during a corner , the power goes to both wheels evenly whereas an open diff will spin the inside wheel if you put power down when cornering. And secondly they can be useful if you are drag racing , Once again the power goes evenly to both wheels, whereas an open diff will have you lighting up one tyre and the other one going nowhere. (If you have the power to do it)
You have to keep in mind that locking the diff will change the whole driving dynamic of the car. At low speeds the cornering will suffer .
As mentioned previously it is also illegal to lock a street car diff. A limited slip diff is a much better option (but you try and find one). It will lock under power but free wheel around most corners.

I reckon the original set up looked great. However it must be great to get a gulp of cool air. I wonder if it would improve a quarter mile time ? I'd be interested to hear what others thought. If it works. I'd love to try it on my twin webers.

Hi Annette, These Datsuns are such great cars to work on . They have comparably simple mechanics and excellent engineering ,making them a very reliable car. They are fun and economical as a stock standard car. And parts are cheap and easy to get, compared to other makes of car.
Why don't you post up a short list of required parts, we all try to help each other.

Re the QH upgrade. I went along to repco and the quote for the kit was $160, none in stock.
Then I went to super cheap $12 each for the semi sealed lamps and then anwhere from $10 for the stocko bulbs to about $27 for the fancy pants bulbs in glossy boxes.
Any suggestions on which way to go and what the pitfalls are ?
The guys at the two shops said that there was no need to change any wiring as the existing bulbs are high, low beam (three pin connection) and drawing the same current.
