my old a12 (same specs as yours) could do 100mph both when it was 4speed manuel and auto (although it took longer with the auto)(on origanal speedo). my a15 (twin deloughtos mild work, 5speed ,digital vdo speedo) did 175kph on a slight down hill run on to a straight before i backed off (this one , i had my video camera attached to my roll cage for prosperity... now im to gutless (i call it smart) to push the limits of my car like that. i have the feeling the datsuns aerodynamics were not desighned for breaking the speed of sound

ive been looking everywhere, these 60a vanette boxes that go on to aseries engines are even rarer than the normal ones, theres plenty of 2litre ones though

i may be in luck, i have a dead 60 series 5 speed(dogleg) box in my shed that was in my car until recently (had to put the four speed back in) so i should only really only have to swap the rear half of my gearbox on to a vanette 60 series gearbox and im set again, correct? (fingers crossed) ive just been looking on the redbook site and it has no listing of an a series 5 speed c20 van, does this meen this gearbox is a hard to find item aswell?

hi all, ive got my old four speed box back in my datto after my five speed failed. the four speed isnt to bad (although it does whine alot when the car is pullin hard) but i am missing that extra gear. when i do 100-110kph my car is reving at around 4000revs which is loud. i have a borg warner diff from a later model 120y sedan in my car (the local one), i was wondering if there is a diff centre i can get from another car that will slide straight in to my diff which would make my revs lower?

hi, i just recently blew up my sunny 5 speed box behind my a15 after having it for nearly 2 years, i dont thrash it and it was supposed to have been rebuilt, so i have now decided that getting a conversion kit from dellow automotive to put a celica box behind my engine is the way 2 go. i have been told to get every thing gearbox, conversion kit @ getting it installed would work out $1500-$1800aus drive away and with that it is easier and cheaper to get parts and spare gearboxes from the wreckers (approx $250for a ssecond han gearbox)(in australia any how) considering you are looking at around $1000-$1500 for a aseries gearbox not fitted with, god only knows what history it has had, id say a celica box i going to find its way in to my car as soon as i ca afford it. just my 2cents anyway

hehehehehehee! woohoo i love it!!! 1200 +1 , 5 liter stang 0.... he would be sooo pissed just dont race him next time, that would really get up his nose. he wouldnt be able to prove his point. i can imagine his big ego would have been sooo hurt, having it look like he was too intimidated by the same car he was bagging moments before be carefull though as they say "big v8, little brain" , just what I heard I dont want to start a riot or anything

hi all, i went for a cruze last week, sitting in 5th using my dogleg sunny gearbox. i shifted back to 4th but my gearbox didnt want to work, i couldnt shift to any other gears. so i had to pull over and get atow. the selector whas shifting when i used the clutch but the gears would not engage. now i have the car at a garage, they are saying that all the gears are blown and they can get parts to fix it and it would cost over $2000 just for the parts.does this sound right im not that flush with cash at the moment so that (paying $2000+) is probably out of the question + i also have seen a stanza style box (stronger) for sale for $1100 (although i dont think i can really afford this either) or i can put my 4 speed back in and worry about the fith gear when my funds recover so what do you guys think, does it sound like my mechanics are right about all of the gears blowing?. could there be a cheaper option? i do know that it is a rare geabox any comments or responses are welcome
